How to beat a speeding ticket?

Ok a lot of this has already been said:

1) yes he can get you while you were both in motion.
2) yes he can get you from oncoming.
3) yes he does NOT have to show you the radar.

Ok if you think your innocent, get a lawyer. (which will cost you about as much as the ticket).

Some plausiable defences a lawyer will come up with are:

Radar calibration.
Unit maintenance.
If the officer kept your vehicle in sight the entire time.
Weather conditions.
Lighting conditions.

Try it with out a lawyer and... well keep reading:

If you are indeed found guilty you are roughly looking at 3 to 5 times the costs than if you would have just paid the ticket to begin with. Judges really hate wasting their time on a traffic ticket case unless you are innocent and can prove it, and if your found guilty they will make an example of you.

You beat the ticket by proving that you were not speeding. He is not required to tell you he was using radar or to show you the radar unit.

Most modern radar units function while the patrol car is in motion.

Go to court and if you don't have much history they will probably drop the ticket.

Many people misunderstand and say that cops cannot shoot radar from opposite traffic flow. They can! Technology that they have these days can do anything. He did not have to show you the radar. You could've asked him if you could see it but doesn't mean he has to show you.

As for trying to get out of it, you could plead not guilty to the ticket then go to court which is sometimes a drag and a waste of money if you lose. In court, they could find other ways to prove that you are guilty without having to bring up the radar gun. Unless you have proof yourself that you did not speed then I wouldn't risk it. Good luck.

Same thing happened to me. The worst!
But when the office comes up to your car in the future, just keep you hands on the steering wheel and be understanding. Tell them before you reach fro anything so that they know. If you make their jobs easy and have no cause for concern they will normally let you go.

They can get you from anyway. It happened to me once. My best advice if see if you can get probation and it not go onn your record.

I don't endorse this method, but what I hear some people do is this:

They wait until the cop gets out of his car and walks up to your car, then they bust a cap in his *** and speed off.

Like I said, it's not what I'd recommend, but I hear that it works.

Let's start here by stating the radar does work while moving even opposite to the offender, he does not have to be stopped to clock your speed. He does not have to show you the reading, and the speed you are ticketed for will be listed on the ticket. There is nothing in your post that is unusual, meaning you should just own up to your mistake and pay the ticket, as you could end up in a worse position if you attempt to fight and lose.

he has to show up at court that means when you go to court to fight it he has to be there and then he will show you the reading and just try to plea down to like a driving class no points

You don't have to be stopped to run radar, nor do I have to tell you what the reading was, my report will say the same thing I told you when I walked up, and if you want to come to court, I will welcome it because that means I get OverTime, and you are still going to have to pay the ticket. There are a few things you should know about getting away from a ticket. You should always ask for Radar gun certification slip to the police officer..if he does not produce it...You can tell the judge that he did not have it.
On this ticket. If you have a clear driving record, you should plead no guilty to the judge, based on non proof of speeding.
A traffic lawyer can get you out with "traffic school" and no points in your license

Simple. You cant. You would be lucky to get out of a speeding ticket even if you knew the cop!

He doesn't need to show you. That's just a myth that they have to. And yes, they can even clock you coming from the opposite direction of traffic. Essentially what it comes down to is your word against his. His will win. Go to court, get it reduced if you can, pay it, and move on. Make it as painless as possible. You can almost count on not getting off scott free though. That's for sure.

Radar Guns are unaccurate unless shot from a qualified Patrol Officer sitting 90 degrees to the road, not through any objects, and completely stopped.

However, Officers have the legal ability to judge what speed you were going, and if it's a reasonable estimation, can withstand in court.

They can also use the catchall code, which here in california is 22350 CVC, "unsafe speed for road conditions" which basically can let the officer determine the speed limit.

You're in a nutshell, somehow the Officer thought you were speeding, and if he can justify it with reasonable suspicion, you're in for a sucessful citation.

You would have to prove that the radar was defective or that a sworn peace officer who has taken an oath to uphold the law is lying through his teeth.On the good side,it goes off your state record in 7 years.So you may as well pay the fine and learn your lesson.They usually have video footage of every traffic stop and a solid radar lock for 2-3 minutes.

Delay a few times.... hopefully the cop won't show for court and your charges will have to be dismissed.

Of course... you could simply DENY the charges and DEMAND that the Court produce EVIDENCE that you are guilty.

So I just got a ticket in the small town I live in, driving my semi truck bobtail (no trailer). And cop said I was goin 45 or 50 in 35 but he did not clock me, he said the engine was heard before he seen me and wrote me for unsafe speed it was in ca,, and. I really don't believe I was even doin 35 the speed limit, I'm not guilty and that's what I'm pleading, I hope my chances are good!!!
