How to go about catching a thief in my gym class?

theres some kid in my gym class that has stolen money... only like 5-10 bucks er whatever... from about 4 different kids my gym class and from me twice!... and its really starting to piss everyone off.

i usually just keep my wallet in the back pocket of my jeans and fold up my jeans and put my bookbag over it.

now heres my plan.

our locker room is kinda weird.. theres old showers that nobody uses in the back and you can sorta hide back there.

i was thinking of hiding back there with my phone and just chillin back there till i hear someone. then if i do hear some one. i will quietly walk out and if i catch someone in the act, im going to quickly take a picture on my phone, and then use it as black mail against him...

then confront him and tell him i want my money back or im going to the principal with this picture.

things to keep in mind:

were all juniors and senior in high school.

im not a goody goody and am not going to just go complain to the gym teacher or principal, I want to bust this kid. and so do my other friends that got robbed.

AND I KNOW I KNOW
Im not going to bring my wallet to gym anymore

* and my school is really weird and wont let us lock our gym lockers.....

so please and tips, suggestions, advice, or other ideas... let me know

That school policy for "lockers that don't lock" makes as much sense as painting a house before you demolish it........

The term "locker" means to "keep VALUABLES safe from theives"

WHAT CONCEPT DON'T THEY GET ABOUT THAT????

Sounds like the SCHOOL is responsible for your losses........Have your parents CALL the principal and see what's up.........

You should be able to secure your valuables, PERIOD.......I think that's unconstitutional, I'll check it out.........Till then, don't bring money with you to gym........

And if you confront someone dirty/mean enough to steal, what makes you think he would not try to hit you and break your phone/camera?

And if anyone saw you hiding in the showers with a phone/camera and trying to take pictures - what might they think of you?

Why not just mail a letter - unsigned of course - to the principal or the school's safety officer. Let them handle it. Isn't that what they get paid for?

I worked in an office where we often worked late or on weekends. So management provided a refrigerator for us to leave snacks in. Someone started stealing food from it. Food, drinks, you name it - nothing was safe - it could all be taken.

We discussed the thefts in our staff meeting. And no one knew who was doing it. No one admitted to doing it. People were really upset and were asking what could we do?

I spoke up and said I would bake some cakes and brownies and use a lot of EX-LAX. Bill jumped up and shouted YOU BETTER NOT DO THAT, YOU'LL MAKE ME SICK!!!

We all turned to him and said "Why?"

He then admitted he was the one stealing the food. We never had any more items to disappear.

But how to do something similar with money in billfolds?

buy a chain for your wallet and let it hang out of your pocket a little and dont make any attempt to protect it. then take out all of the money and put some counterfeits in there. make them look as real as possible and crinkle them up a little bit and kind of flatten it so it looks worn. then when he steals it and goes to buy something he gets in trouble.

if he is smart, which he is probably not, he may check the old showers first. maybe you should set up a mini camera, or if that is too much, put some fake cash in the wallet and really piss him off!

i think you should become mister GOODY GOODY & tell someone in charge or if you have so much time on your hand, hide & capture him on camera!!! but telling is faster way...

Don't blackmail anybody. That'll open a REAL can of snakes that could result in homicide.

Raise caine about it. Talk to your coach, talk to your principal. Be a real pain in the butt over it. Here's your chance to buck the system and be in the right about it.

Coaches and principals are sensitive about their school's image. There may be five homicides and seven rapes a week in your school but administration types are sensitive about their institutional image. They all want a squeaky clean resume'.

So some acne faced kid comes along and starts rocking the boat and making waves they gonna do something about it.

Catching the guy? Hiding in the old shower area? Sounds like cutting a class. Don't do that. Don't do anything to give the administration types something to come back on you with. They will want to in order to shut you up before you get the PTA all excited.

Select about ten dollars worth of plant money. A five and five ones. Record the serial numbers and write across the back of the bills in red marker ink. 'THIS MONEY HAS BEEN STOLEN FROM JOHN DOE. CALL THE POLICE !!'

That oughta go over real big in the school cafateria.

If nobody steals your plant money. Take it to the bank. Explain what you did and they'll replace it.

Instead of blackmailing him, just confront him with your friends and tell him you will whoop his a$$ if he doesn't stop
