my daughter has a older friend who is into police explorers...she practiced on me...but it took a long time and she put them too tight lol...can anyone explain how she should have properly handcuffed me?

First you need to get 3 or 4 guys that weigh about 220 or so, lay down in a gravel parking lot, then have them kneel on your neck and kidneys, fold your hands back up between your shoulder blades and rack them puppies on as tight as they can be applied. And if that's not uncomfortable enough to make you scream in pain, maybe a jolt of tazer and a dash of pepper spray into the recipe would help. |

Cuffs are uncomfortable, even when applied correctly. If you can place a finger between the cuff and the wrist, it is not too tight. |

Tell her to keep practicing. It takes a lot of practice to get it down pat. You could make them too loose or make them too tight.
In the heat of the moment, an officer just does what he's trained and slaps them on to eliminate the threat. He is not concerned with how tight they are. He can always loosen them later.
Once the cuffs are at a tolerable level, they can be double locked so they won't tighten up. If the cuffs aren't double locked, they will tighten each time the person moves in the back seat of the patrol car. |

The course I have to go on annually which teaches me to cuff people is an entire day so I won't go into too much detail - Basically it's a push and pull technique - push the cuffs and pull the arm/wrist towards in one movement...
Check the tightness by getting a finger between the cuff and wrist and double lock the cuffs so they can't become tighter. |
