How was it that my brother and his friend helped me to pull the fire alarm in a fire?

There was a fire and we were outside and my mom said go and pull the fire alarm and we will meet away in a safe spot. How was it that my mom asked us to pull the alarm as opposed to another person?

When we saw the alarm how was it that my brother said do I want to do it? I said sure lets work on this together since there was glass and no hammer or tool to break it I kicked it.I remember wearing colored underwear and it felt good kicking the glass. How was it that my brother helped me to lift my leg to kick it? After the glass broke how was it that my brother's friend and I both pulled the handle as opposed to my brother and I? When the handle did not go down the first time I pulled it a second time and it worked why did this happen Was it because the friend did not have a good grip or he pulled it not hard enough?
