You are in charge of the medical department in a female prison. How would you address the wellness of your population?

I would start with eliminating substance abuse and replacing what they eat with healthy foods and clean fresh water. Then I would see about getting them as much exercise as possible.
I would try to find ways to help them eliminate their addictions to seeking self abuse. Subconciously they all want to be abused and seek it out. This is what makes them feel normal...being hurt and causing hurt.
Most of them are self-medicating their double edged sword of an existance. They seek abuse to feel bad because feeling bad is normal, yet they still feel the pain and suffering from it...so they have to hide by drug use.
There are two kinds of abuse seekers, those who accept the abuse, and those who give the abuse...yet they sit in the same prisons.
The prison system could do better with its inmates if they would place people with the same problem together. People who commit the same type of crime should be in the same prison. Otherwise, they just feed each other...being abused and being an abuser. |

If i was in charge, of course i would have a female chaperon to make sure everything is done on a professional level, also for protection if you think you need it. Just go about it the best you can. Ask questions, suggest what you can do, treat them like you would treat any other patient. No different than the outside world. Medicine is the same. |
