Since he didn't rob the bank he would probably be charged with plain armed robbery but I'm sure there are some lesser federal crimes associated with doing it in a bank that would also be tacked onto the armed robbery charge. |

I believe he would be charged with armed robbery of the customers and the bank . The district attorney would charge him with arm robbery of both the bank and the customers by figuring that they will prove intent later concerning the bank. Logically, how many people will rob the customers in the bank and not rob the bank itself? May be if the arm robber is retarded or insane. In either case that might make a good offense. |

Its armed robbery no matter where it takes place. Instead of the bank being listed as the victim, the individuals would be and you would be charged with 20 counts of robbery if 20 folks were present and robbed. Plus all of the other charges they could lay on you. |

I'm sure robbing a bank is called armed robbery.
Not "bank" robbery. The charges would likely be identical. |

Off the top of my head I dont think the crime is called "bank robbery" i believe they call it grand theft.
It would depend on how much money he/she stole. |

Well i would charge him with burglary because he entered a structure with the intent to commit a crime and then i would add on armed robbery. Both burglary and robbery is a felony so whether it qualifys as bank robbery or not the guy is doing some jail time. |

Bank robbery. He is robbing bank customers and/or potential customers. Plus, he is ruining the reputation of the bank. Also, considering that the robber was in a bank, robbing people, the bank could clearly show intent to rob the bank. Otherwise, why rob people in the bank instead of robbing them on the street? Most important: What are the odds that the robbers have not stolen SOMETHING belonging to the bank while they are robbing people? |

i would say armed robbery, but they would probably charge him for bank robery because he was "in" a bank and the law enforcers screw ppl over like that all the time. |

Most likely just robbery of the individuals, but there may be some other issues.
I don't think you have bank robbery. What makes bank robbery a federal offense is that you are taking money from the bank and the bank operates in interstate commerce (hence bank robbery being a federal crime). So, if you don't take the bank's money, you are't within the criminal jurisdiction of the feds.
That's a nutshell version...don't rely on it in real life, because you asked a finite question about bank robbery, not ALL the possible crimes you could go down for. |

I think he should be charged with armed robbery and for aggravated assault as I am sure it was very aggravating to the customers |

Probably bank robbery. |

It depends on the laws of that state. In most states, there is no such crime as "bank robbery", just as there is no such crime as "store robbery" or "gas station robbery". It's just plain "robbery".
If someone robs 9 people, then they are charged with 9 counts of "robbery", along with a host of other charges. |

good question. probably just armed robbery, though the bank will press charges along the lines of endangerment, tresspassing, etc. |

Great question. I would say that it is still considered a bank robbery because most of the money on the customers is probably going into the bank or came from the bank, plus it is in a bank. Try it out and let me know how it goes! |
