It might of been uncalled for, but I don't think theres a law against cops calling for back up. they might of gotten fined though, and you might be able to file a complaint against the officer at the police station. |

It depends on what part of him you were staring at. |

Its not against the law for him to call backup. As long as he doesn't violate any of your rights, such as arresting you when you did nothing or in any way attacking you, then he is okay.
And that is true regardless of your size. |

he can call for back up if he wants it doesn't effect you or anyone else for that matter so why would it be against the law?
( a police officer can call back up if he's nervous about a traffic stop) |

Calling for backup against the law? BWAHAHAHAHA!!! Yeah, right. |

I would be worried that you would start yelling
"Get in mah belly!"
'cause you are FAT!
maybe the drooling was a little spooky...who knows? |

If he felt intimidated, or fearful he had every right to call for back up. |

If the officer felt threatened, then he has the right to call for backup. The fact that you are as big as you are probably intimidated him a little, I know it would me. He has to take into consideration that if he has to make an arrest, or if you had something come back on your license that required him to detain you, then I am sure he felt like he needed someone there with him. Hell, I bet that backup officer wanted to call for backup! lol They were within their right...did they over-react? Probably. Would I have over-reacted? Probably. lol Hope this helps. As the law is written, it is not about you, but rather the safety of the law enforcement officer. Spend a shift or two in a ride-along with a local Deputy or State Police officer that has to work the interstate...I bet you will find that there are time YOU will want to call for backup. Imagine a raging women...what would you do? I bet call for backup to help handle her. lol Have a great evening. |

LOL no. cops can call for backup anytime they want it. |

No. All they need is ' Reasonable Suspicion '.
Staring is never a good thing, even if your the size of Gary Coleman. |

are you sure you were just staring? |

Sorry to say, but in the real world these cops can and do what ever they want. No it is commom practice for them to call for backup whatever the situation might be. |

I don't think the cop did anything wrong. If you had no bad intentions, you should not have anthing to worry or complain about. The cop probably felt intimated because you were staring at him. |

If you were staring at me I'd be a little concerned! |

I'll actually give the cops this one. Cops really should ride in pairs for their own safety, but they don't. |

you obviously scared the shyt out of him....as you would most people. I wouild not see what law he was breaking and if you are on here typing then he obviously found that nothing was going on that warranted further assistance
Leave it alone....as you know based on your size most people feel intimidated in your presence
so you would have a hard time trying to convince a court that he would have no reason to be 'aware' of your size.
I am sure being your size has a few disadvantages but if that police officer was afraid of you, plenty of would be criminals probably go the other way when you are around....you get no sympathy from me, hell I am jealous....a problem I would LOVE to have |

Call city hall, schedule to meet with the city council at their next meeting and discuss it with them. This is the cops' boss. You might consult a lawyer before you go.
By the way, if he messes with you after that, you have a harrassment/retaliation case.I too believe cops should be in pairs for safety and accountability. |

LOL This image is so funny to me!
He may have tried to converse with you to see if you were threat.
He must have been a real sissy to be honest even at 6'5" and 345lbs you posed no danger or broke any laws by just staring at him.
Was he wearing blue or maybe pink with a shiny foil badge? |

you can't really do anything at this situation because for one thing, THE COPS ARE THE LAW! bottomline is: Never stare at the cops . it makes you more suspicious. |

If I was him, I would of called in the Marines.................Were you staring at his donuts? If you were , your lucky you didn't get shot............. |
