NO!! My grandfather was a police chief. The only officers I don't like (you should never hate anyone) are the ones that are "crooked". They should be kicked to the curb etc. In general I don't think most cops are bad. They just have to uphold the laws and rules and when someone breaks them the cop gets the raw end of the deal.

those who are on the wrong side of the law may despise you.. but i look up to you... u make the world a better and safer place... ppl who hate you are just ppl who break the law and they despise youbecasue you stop them from breaking the law... i think police oficers are a great addition to our society because they make a world a better and safer place to live in

Don't be so sensitive.. I am an Officer too. People like, people hate. We represent authority some don't like that. No one likes being told what to do. Deal with it! Some Officers let us down, some are lazy, some of us (like you and I) work as hard as we possibly can..

where are you from?
i dunno bout the rest of the world, but in india if you're a police officer, it means you are corrupt to the core, hence you will be despised whatsoever.
i know not 100% of them are corrupt, but they are known by the majority- unfortunately the majority is corrupt.

ps. i don't hate all of them because luckily i've got a good judgment and i can easily pick the good ones out of the herd. i don't hate you if you're not corrupt. i hate you to death if you are.

some officers just look at everyone as a criminal and treat them that way. if they just do there job rather than flexing there muscle them they would be like more often. I've met officer that were very nice and polite others were just A>>>S. my best friend is a cop and also my brother in-law

Hiya, check my questions for one ages ago when I ask why people hate the police, my dad was one for 35 years and people being abusive to him when he was at work always confused me, I mean, he was there to help them, what is wrong with that?

I am so proud of my dad and all the stuff he went through as a copper, sometimes he would have the odd nightmare when it was something particulary disturbing he had seen. Me and my brother would always love to hear the grisley stories he could tell us about RTA's and people being dead for months before being found, and he developed an odd sense of humour to cope with the madness of his job. He still says now that there are some cases involving children he could never bring himself to speak about.

For you guys, keep up the GREAT work, you have a hard job, and I for one could never do it. You always see the worst of people, but have to keep some faith that those who you protect are worth the effort!

I would last a week if I was treated how you guys are. My dad was thrown through a plate glass window once, and it was just utter luck that his truncheon(this was back in the day when they were just huge pieces of wood, he still has that one, uses it as a hammer, no word of a lie) in his trouser pocket where he was desperatley trying to free it, sorta pointed out and took most of the impact of the glass on itself, becuase my dad was cut to ribbons through two thick tunics and leather gloves.

It makes me sick that people whine about getting fined for speeding, or parking illegally, when they are breaking the law! Now whose fault is that then? And the same morons, if someone robbed them, will come around to the station crying and demanding that you do EVERYTHING you can to catch who did it.

So, all of you idiots who give these brave men and women a hard time, if you went home tonight, and found your wife or mother raped, beaten and naked in the living room, who are you going to call? Who are you going to rely on to catch and bring justice to the monster that did it? If your child (god forbid) goes missing, you guna go out looking for them ON YOUR OWN? Or are you going to rely on these people who YOU give a mouth full for pulling you when speeding, are you going to expect them to forget their own families while they do EVERYTHING they can to save yours? Because they will! They will sit up with you all night and move heaven and earth to try and make it alright.

And not just your nightmares, they go through eveyone's nightmares with them, and they ARE ALWAYS THERE. So next time YOU break the law, pay the fine, accept responsiblity for YOUR actions, and stop bleating on about Blairs money making schemes or dirty cops and all those other excuses you make to justify your own bad behaviour.
Just pray that you never REALLY need them, but of course you know regardless of what you say and do........they will always help you anyway.

The word hate is a very strong emotion, and to hate someone becuase of there chosen vocation does not make sense.

Rather than hate Police Officers, i admire them. It is so easy to criticise, and easy for delinquants such as xxlboxer to berate Police Officers, but i guess he has is reasons.

no, I don't but it's interesting that you get a bad reaction on the streets in your uniform. I don't think that's personal, or even against the police ... it's just that we seem to live in a nanny state these days with a government that taxes us to the limit and ridiculous laws and feeble sentences for crimes. The people behind these are faceless ... you, however, being on the street are the visible and only representative of this. So you probably get a lot of stick that neither you nor the police deserve, but which is just frustration at the state of society nowadays.

I certainly do not hate policeman and have good cause to be grateful to them when I had problems with anti social neighbours. However, I do think that a lot of the bad publicity that the Police get is justified. It's not the fault of the average copper who seems to have an impossible job, but some of the PC Chief Constables like the Mad Mullah of the Traffic Taleban do invite ridicule. Sir Ian Blair doesn't contribute to the gaiety of nations either. You have too much paper work, too much crime to deal with, little or no support from the courts, and too much PC in the higher echelons. Best of luck!

I respect police officers and the Law. I've never had an issue with them but then I've never broken a Law (no matter how small)

I think people who hate the police generally just hate to be held responable for their own actions. Plus if you are up to something you won't want somebody who can punish you hanging around... say your mum or the police!!

No you are in a gold fish bowl what have we got to replace the coppers you have your job to do .like any job dealing with the public some of them don't like anything .some people don't like any official dress firemen coppers ect .If you do your job to the best of your ability .And you know you have .you can say I will step down for a better man anytime .Carry on mate be a good copper it will pay dividends in the end

No I don't hate you. Police officers are like everyone else, they are just doing a job to make a living. The only difference is, their job is to enforce the law. Law enforcement is a very dangerous, and demanding job, and I respect anyone who has the fortitude to do it.

I don't hate you but wish you lot as a whole would do your job better and lock up real criminals rather than getting figures and locking people up for the night for petty things like peeing in the street
