I'm heading to prison, any last minute tips? (no sarcasm, or joking)?

dont try to act too tough bc/ somebody will try to prove that wrong. dont act too weak bc/ you will be trampled and picked on. and most of all, dont be too scared bc/ people in prison are just regular people that messed up.....and then theres the baby rapers.

Take it easy read some books and gain knowledge don't be like then other people who only think about lifting weight.

keep to yourself, make friends but dont trust anyone in there!! like most of the other answers say, keep useself busy do excercising, read loads of books and try and behave yourself to get extra privileges, this will enable you to do things like do computer courses, get more visits from family/friends, work in the kitchen and get out of your cell more. Dont accept anything from anyone in there also or else you will owe then at a much greater quantity. Dont act like a hard man if you do you will be picked on - good luck in the pen

The more trouble you cause, and the more you start to buy into the "games" that the inmates like to play, the harder your life is going to be and the longer your sentence could be.
But. If you follow the rules, do what your told and do your programming (by taking classes, schooling, getting a job, etc.) you'll earn privilege levels which allow to buy more things off of commisary and rent electronics, get longer visits, longer rec. (recreation) times, etc.
Also, by taking classes and showing that you're trying to change and improve, the board of pardons will look favorably on that, which will help you parole faster.
Bottom line. Behave.

First thing you need to do is spend as much of the time you have out doing the things you enjoy and spending time with your loved ones and eating all your fav. foods. Also spend the time you have in there bettering yourself.

While your in there be good, try not to get in fights and do everything your told and maybe you can get out early.

Ask the guards if you can wear armour like people wore in the Middle Ages inside your cell that could be unlocked and removed ONLY by the wardens or jail attendants.

Smuggle in some stuff that you can sell for commissary. Take some tobacco or something that you can use to build yourself some comfort.
