last week, I was caught for shoplifting in Primax.
I've been really regretting what I've done.
They didn't call the police but they copied my ID card and took my detail.
(Actually, I'm foreigner but at that time, I haven't got my passport
so, they have copied my international student card)
They said they would send a fine letter to my address.
5days passed already, but I haven't got my fine letter yet.
I've feeling more guilty.
how long does it take as usual?
I'm moving to another place next month, so I feel more worried.
and I didn't sign any paper that day.
my friend said that could be the reason, but I'm not sure.
I want to ask to Primax,
I don't know how to contact with them.
(Actually, they gave me the introduction paper which has contact number, but I've lost it )
Please, I feel desperate and a bit scary.

Stop worrying and go on! They probably won't do anything except sitting there and knowing that you're trembling and they might be laughing their a**es off. (It's possible)
Shops do not have the right to charge you with anything or take any money from you (as they often announce). Their detectives are not allowed to go through your pockets and bags. The only thing they are allowed is to hold you there until the police arrives. If they don't do this, you needn't worry. They are not law enforcement. Shops are private property and they can ban you from their store or file charges against you. But they cannot come up days or weeks later and file charges. They'd have to do it right away.
Count yourself lucky of getting away so well and don't do it again. |

Well thief, if you're feeling guilty go to the place where you committed the crime and be honest, but first, make sure you:
Have a passport
Don't steal anything else
Walk in and hold your hands above your head and talk to the staff |

Frankly wouldn't worry about it; you can't be fined if you haven't been seen and charged by police.
You ain't the first person to regret doing something stupid, you won't be the last. Consider yourself lucky and don't do it again. |

how can they fine you without calling the police? I'd forget about it if i were you. It sounds like they're just trying to scare you. Just get on with your life! |
