I guess it depends on where you are at. In Texas, it wouldn't matter who was driving the car. The owner gets the ticket.
Here, you are not actually cited with red light cameras for a driving offense under state law (Texas Transportation Code).
With the red light cameras you are actually cited for violating a city ordinance that states that you may not allow your vehicle to be driven through a red light.
Since it is a municipal statute that is being violated, and not state law, this does not go on your driving record as a driving offense.
I don't know if all states do it this way, but I know this is how it is done in Texas.
My town has these red light cameras. The sergeant who taught us the Transportation Code in the police academy is the traffic supervisor for our town. He is in charge of reviewing all of these red light offenses. |

If you are in South Australia, have a word with your local police station. They will let you know which department to contact. There should be no cost associated with viewing a copy of the image.
If you know who the driver was, you will need to fill out a Statuary Declaration, stating who the driver was, before it can be rectified. |

In Victoria I know you could just go down to the Civic Compliance office and view the photo for free - Otherwise you can request a copy of the photo by calling them and they will need you to send in payment - from memory it was no more than $20 |

Go to court and fight the ticket. They will have to produce the photo at that time. If they can't or it's obviously not you, the case will be dismissed. No lawyer is needed for this. |
