I wrote him a very honest and good letter. Now his parole officer is going to contact me today and I plan to be honest in all my answers. That said, I get VERY nervous on the phone with strangers, and I often say things wrong when I mean something else or I say something stupid. In order to help myself prepare so I won't get too nervous, I was hoping you could provide me with information about what the officer may ask me?

Well, i didn't think the details mattered as I figured a character witness would be asked the same questions regardless of what it is for.
About nine years ago he plead guilty to credit card fraud to pay off gambling debt. That's the extent of what I know because I didn't know him then. I've known him the last 8 months, and dwelling into the past isn't something we need/want to do.

take a piece of paper and write down standard answers to the questions
that you THINK the officer may ask~~~and there will be questions you do
not have a ready answer the truth and say you are nervous and anxious and
don't really understand the question or could he repeat the question more
clearly?
You are not the one on defense your job is just to answer the truth and the whole truth and the officers is trained to ask the right question and they are
knowledgeable about the strain that is put on you and if you are just honest with them ~~they probably will be honest with you
