I am a convicted felon and am 19 trying to find a career i dont know what options i can chose from?

You can start by keeping your dumb as* out of jail you idiot. You have a longer arrest record at 19 than a 40 year old. Do another crime and stay out of the kids life. You will be doing him/her a favor.

I'd say you can't give up just because of one setback. Crime can be a very rewarding career. Don't give up!

Convicted felon and heavily pregnant...

This is not a good game plan to start with. How are you planning to support yourself and the child? Is the father in the picture?

To be honest, you will not be able to think about school for at least a year with a new baby. Even if you have family to look after it, a new born needs maternal care in the first year.
You'll just have to put your plans on hold for a while. Maybe you can do some study at home for a GED or more.

Goodwill Industries might be able to help. Also, check out Salvation Army.

Did you finish high school? If not, since you are about to have a baby, you could call the school district in which you live and ask them what would be the best option for you in getting your G.E.D.

After you get your G.E.D., you may be able to get started on college courses, via correspondence courses. When my cousin was doing hard time in prison, he was able to start working on his engineering degree by taking correspondence courses. After he did his time, he continued his education in the free world... of course, funding could be a problem. I don't know whether or not your past would keep you from qualifying for financial aid... but, no harm in checking that avenue out.

You might look into working from home, while you have a baby to care for. There are freelance writing opportunities online...

Do connect up with either Goodwill or Salvation Army. They may be able to get you in touch with a social worker who can help you get on your feet.

And do contact the school district to wee what your options are in finishing your education.

open your own buiness/ company/ organization
what are you passionate about? clothing? video games?
also, you could be come a mentor and help young kids stay off the streets.

I don't know how much help the link is, but it discusses some of the employment possibilities.

I would see about getting your record sealed so none of your jobs you are interested in can see you was convicted of a felony.When people see this they don;t wan to give you a chance at a job.Best of luck with the new baby!

You should try to work with the ACLU...they hire anyone regardless of history, or maybe even delve into political office.

Cocaine addicts seem to have been doing well in politics lately, I know you didn't mention drug abuse but hey you are a criminal and so are they...so you have something in common with the most revered of our society. You might have a future in public office.

you can find a job anywhere just be honest and go to good places, you dont have to have a job at mcdonalds at wal mart just because of that...but wal mart is a start :)

Do your kid a favor and put them up for adoption. They'll have no chance with a convicted felon parent with no future.

Try applying at a nursing home, or a daycare center.
