I am transcribing a tape and the officer sounds like he says I am from the LAPD gang slash (FEAR) unit.?

Fear is the word I can't figure out. I can't make out what he says or means. That's just what I think he's saying. If it helps any, this is for Los Angeles Police department, the area is Eighth and Alvarado near downtown Los Angeles, and the case is involving fraudulent documents.

Why don't you just ask him what he said?

He's most likely a member of the fraudulent documents task force working out of Rampart. Just call your supervisor and have them get the acronym of whatever name they are using nowadays.
