Failed background for Border patrol. Criminal conduct, Dishonest conduct, Negligence during employment.Criminal conduct i think is referring to a time when I went to the brig for 30 days on a plea bargain while in the Marines. I was later cleared and acquitted after my gen. under honorable conditions discharge I received a letter via mail which I forwarded to my background investigator. I also have 3 traffic tickets). Dishonest conduct- I think is because I forgot to mention a job I had for 1 day. Negligence in employment- Fired from a job during probationary period because i tried to re-enlist, I had my recruiter write a letter to the background investigator. Is there still a chance that I can get in with the LAPD or any other agency??

It's not your background, it's your failing to point it out. When I hear about candidates "forgetting" stuff like this I always laugh. You didn't forget. You just thought they wouldn't find out. You messed up. |

Be persistant and be honest, tell them if wont happen again and retell your story to them in which it favors you best, with out lying or leaving anything out that could make them think you are lying, You have a chance, but it is slim

im currently in police academy right now... we also had to do background checks, they are super strict, my friend took hers also and because she had 2 unpaid tickects they wouldnt let her in, even though she went that day and paid them, if you have been in the military and had honorable discharge they should let u....but it would be different where you live than in texas! good luck~! |

Border Patrol is actually one of the more lenient of agencies on the background, and if you didn't get into BP then your probably won't be able to get into any other department! |
