I got a big speeding ticket in Ontario, live in illinois, should i bother?

Living in: Illinois, Ticketed in: Ontario, Canada.
Before posting this, I searched the forums but couldn't find a case exactly like the one I'm looking for with the same state/province/violation.
I got pulled over for going 170 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone. (About 100 mph).
As the violation was in the highest category (over 50 km/hr over the limit), my car was impounded for 7 days in canada (i already picked up my car), and I can be assessed a fine of up to 10,000 dollars.
If I were to not appear at court, I believe an arrest warrant would be issued. But as this is a traffic violation, would they come across the border into Illinois, where I live and arrest me?
What would you do in my situation? I really don't have to go to Canada again for the rest of my life.
Additional Details
I wasn't charged for reckless driving OR street racing. It was basically me on a wide open road cruise control set at 105 mph. I also did have a radar detector.
I was charged "stunt driving"

Since Illinois is one of the states with a reciprocity agreement with Ontario, if you don't show up for your trial in Ontario you will be arrested by Illinois police and tried there. Which will get you an American criminal record. A Canadian criminal record pretty much won't hurt you at all, an American one will |

That is a big deal here, you are getting charged for reckless driving, and possibly street racing. If you fail to appear their will be a arrest warrant out for you, and we will not come down and get you, but we will contact the proper authorities and have you extradited to Canada. |

You have transgressed and broken the law of the country you were visiting. I feel morally you should meet your obligations. And slow down for pity's sake. The hospitals already have an overly large work load and the funeral directors can wait to get your body yet.
