Please don't lecture me. I rarely speed and I was in a hurry to get to the hospital because my grandfather fell and broke his hip.
Anyways. I got a ticket for $143 dollars. I'm on an insurance plan with my mother and my sister. If I pay double, will this remain a secret from my insurance company? Additionally, how do I pay double (like just stick a check in the envelope for twice as much)?

No. The court won't accept more than the amount allotted by statute. If the offense is found as committed by the court they automatically notify the insurance company. You're probably going to have to pay more in insurance premiums.
your best bet is to go to court and plead your case to the judge and ask for a deferment. |

Paying double will just get you a refund in the mail soon.
You can't BRIBE the DMV to not contact your insurance company. Sorry. |

Your best bet is to contact the courts and ask them these questions. They are the ones who will process your ticket and will know all the laws and regulation. You should also ask the courts if you are allowed to take a driving school class. This will prevent your insurance from going up and points from being placed on your license. Just make sure you get the courts permission before doing so. If you don’t the courts will reject your driving school certificate. Good luck! |

you would think paying double would get you somewhere.. since all they really want is your money! but i dont think it would work! sorry! you will probably just get the other half back in the mail, and could possibly offend some of the workers at the court or dmv... since they will never admit that all they are after is our money!! lol sad but true. your insurance company will find out soon... |

Contrary to what you have heard, the system is not ALL about money. They also want to get people to obey the law. The only way to get the ticket to not affect your insurance is to get it dismissed.
The only way to do that is to challenge it in court.
The only way to do that is to get an attorney. you can get the public defender if you do not have a job, but you will have to MAKE them do their job and you will have to do half of it for them.
Traffic ticket lawyers are not all that expensive (unless you had a pound of pot in the trunk). They can be Worth it in the long run because insurance for young drivers is already super expensive with a perfect record, so it is worth a few hundred to keep it that way
Paying double will not do anything except get your name in the paper as someone that the state is holding money for. |

Be honest and tell the truth to the Insurance company. Why try to hide something? You and all speeders need to be lectured because speeding kills. It leads to accidents. Look at what happened to Adenhart and his friends. Don't speed going forward! |
