I got banned from Primark and Newlook, can I go back in a month and not get caught or charged with anything?
Will they recognize me if I let it cool down for about 2 months and then go back, I won't shoplift, to buy stuff?
I got banned from Primark for 3 years, and Newlook didn't tell me how long, the way the guy said it sounded like forever, but they are sending a letter soon so I should find out. I want to go back to Primark soon, can I go back in like a month with my hair down and buy some stuff without getting into trouble? And if I do get caught, will I get a criminal record?
I got banned for shoplifting items to the value of £65.

yeah, i know now i shouldn't steal, obviously i'm NEVER going to try it again, i'm just really annoyed i got banned. do they actually take bans seriously in primark? and can you be arrested for going back soon after?

If you are banned then you are banned - it means you cannot go back there until they allow you to.

If you go back in without their permission then they can do you for trespass.
They take these things very seriously indeed.
They do their best to keep shoplifters out of their stores and good on them for doing so.
Shoplifting costs ordinary shoppers as it means the costs rise to account for thieves like you.

I'd have paid money to see that, you must have looked like the Michelin woman with all that gear stuffed up your jumper. Hilarious!

Hopefully they saved the CCTV footage, so it comes up on something like "Britain's Dumbest Criminals" at some point.

If you try to go back into Primark, you'll soon find that the security staff have little respect for low-life thieves, and even less respect for the ones who are stupid enough to get caught.

Both Primark and Newlook can ban you for life if they wish.

If you were to go in either shop then I dare say security will eject you. If in the process of that you kick off then the chances are they will call the police. It all depends on what you did when you were ejected or how you respond to the police.

Its probably better for you if you steer clear of both shops for some time to let the dust settle.

All business premises have the right to ban anyone from there stores.
If you were to go back in the store, you could be charged with trespassing which carries a relatively small penalty.

If you were to steal anything from the store after being banned, this would now be trespassing and theft. as this now fits the definition of burglary you would be facing a minimum of 4 years in prison.

I not implying that you will steal again, but given the legal minefield you would be stepping into, its probably best to steer clear and find somewhere else to shop.

They have banned you so if you enter that is a civil offence of trespass and they can eject you.If they didn't prosecute you they may elect to now report your original incident of shoplifting and you will then have a criminal record .You got of easy don't push it.

did they take your photo?? my friend shoplifted i had no idea she had and they banned me for being a accessory that was at h&m but luckily i live close to birmingham so i went there instead but they took my photo at the one i got banned, i wouldnt take the risk because they can arrest for going in. think again before shoplifting this is the price you gotta pay im afraid. if you like primark so much go into another one somewhere else

Wow some people here are really judgemental, yeah stealing might not exactly be good, but what gives you the right to judge?

Well my younger sister got banned from Primark, and they said that she was banned for life unless she has an adult with her.. but she still goes anyways :/ (but not to the same one she got caught in).

I wouldn't try it incase you get into trouble, I don't think that they will give you a criminal record but then again, they won't let it slide.

I got banned from Boots for shoplifting years ago, still go in there ^-^
Just not the one I was caught in.
If you get caught you can be arrested for 'trespassing' on their property, so yeah just be careful ;p

NO YOU CANNOT BANS USUALLY LAST FOR A YEAR SOMETIMES UP TO 5 YEARS SOMETIMES LIFE IT LARGELY DEPENDS ON THE STORE AND YOU NEED TO ASK THEM HOW LONG YOU ARE BANNED FOR.
