I had one seizure and I want to get my drivers permit?

I am 16 years old. I was trying to obtain my drivers permit back in November and December of 2008, but then in late December I had a grand mal seizure. I have since been to a neurologist. I don't have epilepsy or anything of that sort. The seizure was only an isolated incident because of two different cold medicines I was taking at the same time that didn't mix together. I haven't had any seizures since, and it was just a one time deal. Can I still get my driver's permit? How long after you've had a seizure do you have to wait to get one? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have no history of any mental illness or any seizure disorders. I never had a seizure in my life until this medicine.

Well i dont think theres any law on seizures but i'm pretty sure you can still get a permit as long as you don't have a history of serious mental illness. Hope this helps.

my friend got his license and he only has 1 eye. im sure you wouldn't have a problem since you don't have a history of mental illness or seizure disorders

Well if you're sure the seizure was the result of the medications why get yourself into trouble and bring it up? Not really sure but I think the official waiting period is 6 months.
