Illinois does not have extradition for misdemeanor warrants. But you will need to take care of it. You will need to contact the county clerks office that issued the warrant. They will be able to tell you how you can go about taking care of the warrant if you are a resident of another state now. Once the fines are paid you will be off the hook. If you have family or friends that you visit in Illinois and you have police contact, you will be taken in for the warrant. You will be given bond and new mandatory appearance court date.
I do not believe that a correctional center will allow you to be hired until your Illinois warrant is taken care of. They may not hire you because of the warrant and/or the type of charges you are facing. But if you contact the correctional centers recruitment office, they can better advise you on what may disqualify you from hire. |

If you have a warrant out for your arrest, the first time the police run your record they will find out - no matter the state your in. It doesn't matter if it's a traffic stop or a background check (like for a correctional center maybe) - it will show you have a warrant for your arrest. They may or may not send you back, depending on the charge. Your best bet (since its a lousy misdemeanor) is to simply pay your fine or do your time and be done with it. A lot easier in the end. |
