You will not get the licence back until the conviction is spent.
You will serve the full term, if you were banned for 10 years it must have been a serious offence, therefore, you should have no right of appeal.
How were you sent to prison for 3 years if you were not doing anything illegal? |

The ban and the gaol sentence represent the view of the court hearing the case, which obviously took a very dim view of your conduct behind the wheel. No other court is going to want to reverse that decision by letting your have your licence back early. What's more, you are showing no remorse for what you did, which is one of the indicators the courts look for in restoring a driving licence before the period of the ban is up. You are completely unrepentant and apparently feel that you did nothing wrong. You have consequently done nothing to sort your life out in such a way that might persuade a court to show leniency. I therefore rate your chances as nil. |

Busted tail-light? Bald tyre?
Bet you were driving whilst already disqualified, with no insurance and quite probably killed someone.
3yrs in nick, for nothing illegal?
Are you retarded? You think we're gonna believe you?
sounds like you don't deserve to be out let alone able to drive again. So, come on. 'Fess up! What eXACTLY did you get banged up and banned for? |

Very vague.... 10yrs is a heck of a lot for not doing anything illegal... what exactly happened ? To get a 3 yr jail term, sounds like a death was involved........
i doubt very much you will get this reduced, but then i do not know the facts .... |

You were not doing anything illegal. Yet, presumably, you killed someone. Warped or what. If I were making the decision, you would have been banned for life. |

If you weren't "doing anything illegal", what were you charged with and convicted for? I'd guess this was causing death by dangerous driving, and you don't think there's anything worng with that?
In the UK at least you have no chance of getting it back. |

and your not saying exactly what the reason was for 3 years but i suspect someone lost their life and if thats about it brother you would be inside for 33 years and you wouldn't have to bother about your driving lic |

if you didnt do anything ilegal then why did you lose your licence? |

I don't think you should have your license back. From what you have written, I can tell you still haven't accepted responsibilty for what you have done. |

I think you left a few important details out. Having said that, if you killed someone in this crash, you deserve to be a "bicyclist" for the rest of your life. That's how I see it but maybe that's because of I worked in an all male prison & saw & heard it all.
*John W.....Way to go!!! |

You must have done something wrong to get 3 years surely?? I think you have to be tested for drink/drugs at random intervals and attend a safe driving course. |

I think your chances are good but i am curious as to what you did? To get 3yrs jail and 10 yrs sup. even if someone got killed if you weren't doing anything to break the law how was it not an accident? |

Hey mate i was in same situation basically crash no drugs had license and insurance was just speeding and hit a wall , basically you can appeal to get your license back after 50% is served for all driving bans over 3yrs, i am due in court to get mine back done three years, out of four , i could of appealed after doing 50% but my barrister advised me more chance of getting back if i leave it longer, so all you have to do is say do 6 years get an applkication goin and the chances are high as long as you have never been caught driving and ever been in trouble after the last case. also i would as i am doing make sure you have reasons why u need the license back also i would advise you to tell the court how your situation has changed and show them why u deserve your license back. use the same solicitors who represented you in the first place. But if it was for death by dangerous driving i dont know u need to contact ur solicitor cos the chances might be slim cos really u got 3yrs and you prob did 12 months inside therefore you have really only served 4yrs of your ban (cos ur not gonna drive locked up LOL) anyway give it a go u got nothin to lose!!!! |

so you got a jail sentence and a ten year ban but you weren't doing anything illegal.
are you having us on here matey?
do you honestly think you deserve your license back or would it just make your life more convenient and could you afford the insurance? |
|

tracey

i dont think you should get it back. 10 years should mean 10 years. when you do get it back act more respossibly then you wont lose it again. its people like you who give drivers a bad name. |

I doubt you'll get any sympathy on here as folk will feel your question contradicts itself. Still I didn't know you could even re apply half way through a driving ban so I learnt something today. I think you need to find a solicitor who you can discuss the specific details of the original offence with and see how the law has changed since.
My guess, unless you could show that whatever happened was more unfortunate than deliberate and that the lack of a license would cause you and your family material hardship (i.e. stop you getting a job) then they are unlikely to be interested. I am sure you will have to re take your test under a provisional before you get a full license back. |

Think the only way you are going to be able to get your driving licence back is to change your name. address and identity. Then apply for a provisional licence and take a test under that new name. If and when you pass it, you've got a driving licence again. Whether you ever deserve to drive again is another matter? |
|

So why did you have it taken away?
Sounds like you should have appealed. |

So someone crashed into your parked car, killing themselves and yet you get 3 yrs in jail and a ten year ban? Its a conspiracy against poor innocent you. Give us a bit of credit please!!! |

Death by dangerous driving
You will probably have to re-take your test
Your insurance will go through the roof ( if ya can find a broker who will insure you)
If its a 10 year ban - you probably will be declined |

You sound like a very good driver who deserves a second chance on our roads.
Just tell me what town or City you are likely to be driving in.
Hell! I hope it isn't Leeds. |

what confuses me is.
if your car was a gun you would never get it back
Yet you have a constitutional right to have a gun.
A car is a weapon just as much as a gun is. |

what did you do to get such a long ban? If you do have a 10 year ban do you deserve a driving licence |
