I have a man that's been stalking me over the phone for a year now. I've tried everything. Going to the Police. Ignoring the phone calls. Moving to a different state, literally over 900 miles away. Using a standard computerized greeting so that he won't even get to hear my voice. It's not worked. The most the police could do is give him a fine which would not stop him from calling me. I could put out a restraining order which, would not stop him from calling me because he calls from a withheld number all the time... He's made a few mistakes though. He leaves me lewd, graphic and disgusting messages on my mobile and has only made the mistake of not blocking his number twice in the year or so that he's been calling me and once I actually saved his number. Which is a good thing. But I don't know what exactly to do with this information because there does not seem to be anything anyone can do about this man. Any suggestions? I'd be more than happy to give his number to anyone who asks for it.
* PS: I get this question all the time, "Why don't you just change your number?" Well I've had my number for over 7 years now. I can't just change it without going through a lot of hassle. Even more than this man is causing me. Not just with the phone company, but with my creditors and medical personnel spanning three different states (5 different counties) just a lot to think about and do. That's why I have not changed my cell number. I prob never will.*

get some post it notes. put his number on it with the words "let's party" put one on every surface you can find. bathroom walls , pay phones,bulletin boards, etc. maybe he'll meet someone more interesting
meanwhile, file for a protective order and be sure and call police EVERY time he violates it.
stalking is a crime by itself and he can be arrested for just that |

call the FBI make a report, they will act faster then your local Andy Griffith and barney fife anyways. |

Get a restraining order, when he violates it, call the police, then he can go to jail. If they say they can't prove it's him keep calling the police over and over again until they do something about it. |
