An arrest warrant lasts until it is executed. That means, until you are arrested and brought before the British courts, you will forever be a wanted man.
These things dont go away... you cant get off with drink driving just because you hide for long enough. The police will have put together an evidence file and this will stay with the court you are wanted at... and that will stay until you are brought there.
Sorry, you are a marked man... you might as well face the music and hand yourself in.
Whats your name and where are you???????? |

Forever... but if you keep boasting about it, sooner or later you'll run into somebody who's not above a bit of summary justice, especially if they've lost somebody close to a drink drive/ hit and run type incident.
Watch your mouth...and your back. |

Wouldn't it have been nice to finish the question? Guess you can't finish anything, like the driving ban before going off and committing a further crime. The warrant stays active until you either get caught or do the decent thing and turn yourself in!
My wife's uncle got killed by a drink driver, left 4 lads without a dad, the youngest was just 3 at the time. 2 of them needed counselling. The driver of the car tried to runaway from the police, they caught him at home, drinking. He got just 4 years, so with a crime like yours, your only looking at community service I guess.
I could go one for ages about what type of person you are,but whats the point, I'd guess you wouldn't listen, you've probably stopped reading this by now, I'd end up insulting you and loosing my Yahoo-ID. |

it will not commence untill you give your self up to the court, but you are still technically allowed to drive if you have not been told by the court yuo are officially banned,, |

Drink driving WHILE BANNED!
Hell dude, you know how to party!
If I were you, I think it would be better to stay away. I don't know how long the fuzz remember stuff, but it tends to be centuries rather than just decades.
And it will be associated with your passport, so they would pick you up at your port of entry |

that wont go away, and when you do finally get caught, the judge will take into account how long you have been at large, and you should hopefully (and i'm really hoping) get a harsher sentence. |

It will last until it is executed,
I would first suggest the following
1, speak to a criminal solicitor (even by phone) immeadiately to get accurate advice.
It will be important that you have a solicitor speak for you at court if you surrender to the warrant rather than being arrested it will look better in the eyes of the magistrates/district judge.
If you are arrested then you could be remanded for it, I think you will find that once you have surrendered or been arrested you will have a bail act offence levied at you.
The longer youleave this the worse the punishment... if you surrender you could get away with a fine with a community punishment order/suspended sentence your driving ban will almost certainly be extended.
If you don't surrrender then youu could be first of all remanded in custody which could be for a number of weeks until you are sentenced, at which point you could and most probably would be sentenced to jail.
I'd like to point out that in the expierience i have heard of being remanded is far worse as you have no priviliges whereas a prisoner who has been senteced gets to enjoy benefits that they have accumlated for good behaviour.
Please take this advice, obviously this advice is based upon you pleading guilty when you go to court.
If you hurry and go to your local magistrates tommorow ask for the duty solicitor and they wil help you, as i said the sooner the better.
Out of interest what did you blow ??? |

I take it you are asking how long will it be before the warrant is written off? The answer to that would be never. Better to hand yourself in now than risk a harder sentence when they do finally catch up with you! |

It lasts forever - tough ****!!
I hope when they catch you they lock you up for a good period and that it ruins your life - the likes of you have ruined enough lives - and I bet you are still driving now!
You WILL be caught so do the decent thing and hand yourself in - sadly then you might get a lighter sentence. |

If you failed to submit to your bail and return to court, then you will get at least one night in the cells when they capture you.
The warrant system is such that you will eventually be brought before the courts, so I suggest you get yourself down to the local station and hand yourself in. The alternative is that you will be looking over your shoulder every day until the police pick you up!
Think how embarrassing that might be if you get away with it for 10-15 years...your life moves on...you are going about your daily business having forgotten you are a wanted man... you are out with a partner and kids, and an officer has reason to speak with you.
Pretty crap if you get arrested isn't it!
Do the decent thing and deal with it, and deal with the urge to drive whilst banned and the urge to do the other indecent thing of drinking whilst banned too.
If you are banned you have no insurance...and if you are drunk too...think about the consequences...how would you feel if someone hit your car who wasn't insured...or the worst consequence...that the same person was not only uninsured but drunk and killed a member of your family!...still OK to do it?
Be a man...face the music!! |

well it depends how bad the offence was, if its a little thing like just being caught driving then youll be fine after a couple of years but if it was a bit of damage by crashing a car on injuring someone they may come looking for you..... |

Where do you live here or in England? if you live here? Forget it!
But, what was the arrest warrant was for? a Felony? |

If you can't be punished when the cops know where you live - what chance is there when they don't know? Why worry. |
