I live in Orange, California, and got the 2nd speeding ticket on March 21st, 2009, (1st one was on August 4th, 2007), The courtesy notice says that I have to pay a $436 fine AND go to court to see a judge, I did go to traffice school at my first ticket, so why can't I apply for traffic school this time? (after 18 monthes from the first ticket). What should I do for the best if I must go to court to see judge? What should I say? Please help me, thank you very much!
Additional Details
The citation says 98 on 65 speed limit, so it's 32 miles/hr over. Should I hire a lawyer?

You're definitely eligible for traffic school (I used to teach it in Brea), that's a high fine, how much over the limit were you? You should be okay, just ask for traffic school. |

At that speed it is considered Reckless Endangerment. You could be facing jail time, so l would recommend an attorney specializing in these types of cases. |

Your best bet is to contact the courts and ask them these questions. They are the ones who will process your ticket and will know all the laws and regulation. Good luck!
