I just noticed that my drivers license is expired...what'll happen if I get pulled over?

Regardless, you most certainly will not be arrested.

The worst that would happen would be that you got a ticket which would be a correctable one. Which means that you'd have to go show proof that you got your license renewed and the ticket would be dismissed.

If you renewed your license about 2 weeks ago, then you knew it was about to expire. Hopefully the information will be in the DMV computer, and if you should get stopped, the Officer will be able to verify that your license is valid.

As long as you have "the check in the mail" you should be OK.. in a worst case scenario you would just have to show proof in court that you actually mailed in your renewal and just haven't received it yet.

At the very worst you could explain to the officer your situation, and he or she might understand. If not, then they'll issue a citation to appear in court. You may have to pay a fine (at the worst), but more likely all you will have to do is show your license and receipt, cancelled check or cc receipt to prove the date and the judge will send you on your way.

Maybe online at the state website you can get something to print off that the license is on the way but I wouldnt drive w/o a valid license. Don't take the chance because tickets hurt the pocketbook more than anything.

re-new it, NOW,you should not be driving sorry its a criminal offence, you need licence, insurance id, on you in car all the time, and yes, what if you had a car accident? so dont sit, get it renewed.
in england you'd be arrested so, it should have been done long before now, laziness has made you forgotten,

You have to have a valid license on your person, not in the mail. You would get a ticket for driving without a valid license. That would make the officer more likely to give you a ticket for whatever else you did.

No, just go to the BMV and have your license renewed. You will get a ticket if you get pulled over for operating a vehicle on a expired license. I'd be careful if you are going to drive without your license. I drove a while on my license while it was expired. If you are a fairly decent driver, you won't get pulled over very often. Just be careful and get it renewed ASAP.

you need to contact your local license branch and get your license updated.. and no you would get a written warning that would allow you ten days to get your license taken care of..

Depending on which part of the country you are in and what the infraction was that got you pulled over in the first place was. The standing rule is that you must have a valid drivers license on your person when you get behind a wheel of a car, in some states you don't even need to have the keys in the ignition for a police officer to give you a ticket/warning for a invalid license.
Do not listen to anyone saying the females don't get tickets! While it is true that male officers will be more lienent on women female officers will be harder. My advice is to go to your local licensing office and get a temporary license.

You will need to check with the DMV office near you.
If you get pulled over,you will most likely get a ticket for driving with an expired license.
You may be given a certain amount of time to produce a valid license without paying a fine.
Next time,mail the renewal form in as soon as you get it or go to the DMV office.

You could get a ticket for driving with an expired license, which is different than drivbing without on (at least here in WI). You could get a 10 day waring ticket, which would give you 10 days to show proof of renewal. If you did renew it, it may be in the DOT data base that it is current, which would show the officer that it was taken care of when he runs you. I normally give 10 day warning tickets in your case

At best, you'll get sent home with a warning not to drive again until you get your license renewed.

At worst, you'll get arrested.

Well, they don't have to check in the system. They can tell from your license. If you get pulled pver and your license is expired they will probally give you a ticket for it. But in you case only two days they will probally let you off with a warning.

Arrested? ??? REALLY???? PEOPLE SAY THE SILLIEST THINGS. I'm in MD and a couple of months ago a female officer ran me down for a headlight being out. No ticket, 30 day repair warning that I had to get my local State Police Dept to sign & send in to keèp from my L's being suspended. I myself am curious about the real answer to this, but I think it would be a conditional ticket as well. I renewed by mail & don't have mine back. I just rather wait for it although at anytime we could go to our MVA b4 a ur is up and renew there and they will cancel out the mail renewal. Good Luck
