Im trying to leave home because me and my mom are not getting along very well but I also don't want the police bringing me back to a place I'm trying to get away from. So if anyone can help please do and I will very much of appericate it!!!! Additional Details This comment is to CC: Look my situation you have no Idea about ok and thats for one But when you have your mother beating you with everything she can get her hands on and chasing you trying to stab you with a knife and verbal abuseing you, you don't need that in you life.Yes I do have a job and I don't have any kids I am in college trying to do something that will benefit me when I'm done in about 2 more quaters. Ya I'm 19 im young but the goals im tryna ta reach in my life is not gone happen if I keep having someone like my mom to keep bringing me down.Oh and for another thing I don't place on living off my uncle I'll be there until I get myself back on my feet to get my own.

where will u go , where will u stay , do u have a job , can u support yourself , do u plan to live off other people , that won't last long when u become a burden on others,u need to love and respect what your mom does for u, i'm sure she does her best to care for u , it's not easy raising kids let alone yourself , and u only get 1 mama, u better love and repspect her before one day she is gone , then u will be crying your eyes out for treating her like crap and didn't listen to her |

The legal age is 18, but if your mother is beating you then call the cops on her and have her arrestd. That would give you ample time to get all of your stuff out of the house. |

Your mom just wants you to listen to her and become a responsible adult. Best thing you can do right now is just settle down and be good, obey her rules, she just wants what's best for you. Don't think about leaving right now, you'll regret it down the road. |

18. However you can emancipate yourself at 16 but its highly not reccomended unless you have a set plan. |

Usually it is eighteen, but some minors can get emancipated by the courts but that can take a while and the minor has to have a good reason for wanting to be emancipated |

So you're 19? You're legal. Move out and quit taking the beatings. |

18 years old, unless you ask your parents to emancipate you, which basically gives you the freedom you would have if you were 18. Only bad side of that is, whether you're 18 or emancipated, you will get treated like an adult..i.e. arrested if you screw up.
I would suggest talking to your mom without yelling, arguing, cussing, or what have you. Trust me, she's a mom. She might be willing to meet in the middle with you depending on how old you are. |

It depends on the state you live in. Here in NC, you are no longer considered a juvenile at 16 but isn't an adult until 18. Your best course of action is to bet yourself emancipated, which basically means, show that you can take care of yourself. Get a job and find someone else to live with. Go down to the court house and ask what is required in your state for this to happen. Or you could just talk to your parents and tell them you don't want to be around them while they are acting the way they are and ask to stay at a friends. That might give them a wake up call as to how they are acting and how it is effecting you. |

I think the legal age is 18 years old .Are you still in school ?Do you have a job? And most of all ,do you have a plain &do you know where you will go when you live home . Then if so you will be just fine if you leave home .
Do Not run away ,but tell your mom, if you can, with a one on one grown up like manner With no bad language even if she is cusing at you . Let her know and see that you are a resposible yong person and it is time for you to leave the nest. And tell her that you love her and that you wish that you both could get along and have a muchual understaning . Hopfully she will respect your desion . Good luck .I hope you and your mom can get along .And that you will make the wright decisions in life . |

In CT, it is 16.
After that, whatever you do, juvenile matters is out. Teh cops won't go dig you out, but nobody will sign a lease agreement with you, without a parent as co-signor |
