You should be able to appeal agaisnt the decision, ask a lawyer for advice. You may be able to get free legal advice through your work Union or Professional body if you have one.
There must be some kind of Police regulatory body or ombudsman who can overturn the investigating officers decision if it's deemed necessary. Good Luck! |

That would depend on the nature of the complaint and how it was dealt with.
A couple of questions you need to ask yourself:
What do YOU want to happen now?
Is your complaint valid? I've had several that aren't. |

Get legal advice. |

I like Ian's answer.
If your complaint was that the officer was rude or something along those lines, it's entirely possible that's been dealt with in whatever way the agency saw fit to deal with it. That makes it a done deal as far as the agency is concerned and I doubt VERY much you can appeal that decision.
And I guess you should do whatever it is you feel is the right thing to do. You can continue to work with the police department, contact a lawyer, go to the media, take out ads in the local paper, organize protests, or otherwise make as much noise as you see fit...it really is your choice. |

What were your actions to get involved with the officer?
What were his actions upon contact with you?
What were your actions upon contact with him?
What did he do/not do to warrant a complaint from you?
Without this info I could not dare to guess but I would side in favor of the officer on the basis your information is lacking. |

My advice to you is keep fighting, get a lawyer, go back and ask them why nothing has happened.
I took a Metropolitan Police Office to court for being a menace to the public, he was a bully and he used to beat up his wife he showed up in court with Police Lawyers but still LOST, he was the first Police Officer in the country to be given an ASBO, he was kicked off the force and given a £10,000 fine...... There is hope..... GOOD LUCK! |

Get used to the fact that when the police police themselves, nothing really comes of it. |

lodge an appeal and keep going higher and higher till you get the answer you want. The police complaints commission is a good place to start. good luck. |

that pretty much all you can do other than sue the officer. |

Take it to a civil action & sue the guy. Whatever it was he did, he cannot be allowed to get away scott free. |
