I a person i know threw a drumstick at me in anger and it barely missed my eye and i in return shoved the person back and yelled at them for what he had done what are the laws regarding self defense on this subject in the state of missouri?
Additional Details
To clarify the drum stick did hit me in the face and throat. It just barely missed my eye.

It's self defense as long as you use the appropriate amount of force needed to stop the assault. So if he threw the drumstick at you and came up and tried to challenge you, then yeah shove him to the deck so he can't assault you.
Just fyi self defense also involves avoidance, deterrence and de-escalation. The use of force to defend oneself is only part of the equation when it comes to self defense. |
