my daughter has went to roanoke county jail for credit card theft and fraud and several bad checks this is her first offiense is Roanoke County jail in virginia does anyone have any suggestions how she will be sentenced

Well, she could be prosecuted for a federal crime, but won't. The feds have bigger fish to fry. Tampering with a mailbox can also be a federal crime but how many F.B.I. agents come out to investigate when a group of kids goes 'mailbox bashing?' She'll be charged locally.
Call an attorney, tell her to cooperate. These offenses are very difficult to defend due to the extensive paper trail generated by this type of criminal activity. If the prosecutor offers a deal, you may want to take it to avoid being convicted of multiple charges, which would result in more jail time. |

Identity theft is a Federal crime, this will reside over the state and county laws. Unfortunately Federal crimes are taken very seriously and expect her sentence to include to jail time. However you may want to get a consult from a criminal lawyer who will understand this far better than I ever could. She is NOT in a good situation. Those are very serious charges even for a first offense. I would say there is no way she will avoid some jail time, plus restitution, plus a lengthy probation, and maybe some community service + court costs and fines |

Is she a Minor ??? It will go easy...
If she isn't a Minor she can do up to 10 years...
