They aren't going to hunt you down for $120. As long as you never get pulled over again and you aren't planning to renew your license or registration, you'll be fine. But if you plan on renewing your license when it expires, then you'll have to pay up then, so might as well do it now.

The compact you speak of links state's DMV records.

So, you don't pay your ticket, Iowa will suspend your privilege to drive there. eventually Minnesota will pick up that suspension and suspend your license there as well.

Then you will have to go to Iowa, fix the mess you made, go back to Minnesota, pay tons of fees to fix your license there, have to prove insurance via an SR22 for at least three years and probably have to get new insurance as they will find out ans cancel you.

Its not like you just forget it and walk away.. its gonna get ugly early if you do not resolve the ticket.

not sure what is the question but I'll tell this, it doesn't matter where did you get the ticket if you dint pay it, they will suspend your license and if you get pull over without a valid driving license you might end up in jail. so do yourself a favor and pay that ticket, unless you want future problems..

Just place your drivers license in an envelope with a note that states "I QUIT" and send it to your DMV. Better for you to do it then get caught driving with a suspended license (that you will not be aware of, since they do not notify you) and get arrested.

Iowa will cancel/deny your driving privileges in their state (regardless or not whether you have a license there). Then Minnesota will cancel/deny your license, under the compact. Might take a few months for this to occur, I'm not exactly sure. All states are now part of the DL compact and they will enforce it.

I stopped a guy who had his license cancelled/denied over an unpaid $35 ticket.

Your insurance company can and will refuse to cover you if you are driving under restraint. They will still take your monthly premiums, but once you get in an accident will check your driving status, and deny you coverage.

The driver license compact means that the offended state, Iowa, can notify your state, Minnesota, and Minnesota will suspend your license for failure to answer a summons.

You have two choices: pay the ticket or contact appropriate court in Iowa and ask for a hearing date and then show up prepared with your arguments about the ticket.

Is the 120 really worth possibly being arrested for a crime? That is what will happen if you don't pay it and they suspend your license. You will be arrested for driving on a suspended, even if you are pulled over in your own state. Just pay the fine or go back to Iowa to fight it, either way, ignoring it won't help you at all

you either have to pay it and take the conviction on your record. or fight it in court. it is on your record wherever you go and if you just ignore they might issue a warrant

No one wants to pay a ticket. If you don't care whether your DL is suspended some time in the future (I hear that is a real pain when that happens) then, by all means, ignore the ticket.
On the other hand if you value the privilege of driving, then pay the ticket and take a lesson from this incident.
