It depends on the situation. If they were clearing a house and looking for someone they would want to start and stop in the same place to make they had made a complete circle of the house inside and then start the outside search. If it was a crime scene they would not want to contaminate anything. If the door was locked and there was an open window they would want to leave it that way for the forensic team. |
