car was sold to dealer,transfer was reg. at dmv. I can't get in touch with the issueing party of the ticket ,but the city that issued it says it's mine. I refuse to pay it and its been sent to a collection aggency and has shown up on a credit report as a nonpayment. I replyed to all mail sent by this city and got nowhere,phoe calls get nothing. I can't afford an attorney! I think mybe I should pay it $190. and then ake the city to small claims court. Looking for legal help

When you sold the car, you were given paperwork. That paperwork was dated. If the date of sale is before the date of the ticket, they should dismiss it.
Stopping by in person is always more effective than phone calls and letters. |

Take the ticket, and the proof of sale to the City Hall in the county or city the ticket was issued (in person) no phone calls, and go from there |
