Save it, and print it out. If it comes to it give your local station a ring and get them to come to your house and view it for themselves. You have to do something, you'd never forgive yourself otherwise. |

Sure, better to report it to be wrong then to ignore it and be right.
A lot of police dept.s are equiped to handle cyber crime - just report it. |

The internet is full of people that say stuff like that. And most of them aren't real molesters. But if you want to be absolutely sure, you should contact your local authorities. |

As well as contacting the police, you should also let the people who run/maintain the site know. |

You should go to the police with you're evidence.
He can be traced through his I.P address very easily by the Internet police, the police would be able to make the site owner give details of the offender.
You can go to whichever town you live in Police's Web Site. |

Yes, save what has been written to include the threat made towards you. Since the recent Myspace incidents it is the responsibility of the internet site to also take some action. They could be held liable. Take any threat serious and never openly display your home of residence at any of these internet sites in case this is the worst case scenario. Take care your concern is refreshing. You may also want to inform the teenager of your concerns. |

I think once you report it to the police it is out of your hands. Certainly raise it with the chat forum too though... |

It's true, he's not breaking the law. But the police should be able to refer this to the appropriate channels. They can tell you if you're over reacting.
It would probably be a child protection multi agency approach. it doessound extremely hard to prove though. Unfortunately, they are more reactive than preventative. Which is shite.
No question though, more people like you has gotta be a good thing. |
