I think I may of been caught speeding by a moblie camera. I was only doing 33mph however i have only been driving 6 months will this affect the fine I may recieve?

At 33 on your speedo your true speed will be between 30 and 33 and is likely to be nearer 30. At 33 mph you would not be prosecuted.
The only thing that is affected by how long you have had your licence is the "New Drivers Act" where you lose the full entitlement if you get 6 or more points in the first 2 years making you a learner again. |

You mean you may HAVE been caught speeding? by a MOBILE camera?
If you're in the UK then it will be between 3 and 6 points on your licence which in your case, having only had a licence 6 months, 6 points is an automatic ban, as well as a fine.
However, as a rule of thumb, if you are within 10% of the speed limit, which you are bordeline, you may hear nothing more about it. You may also be offered a fixed penalty fine of about £60 and 3 points |

doesnt matter how long you have been driving
also i dont know where you are from
but in the UK they often allow 10% excess over the limit
so if the limit was 30 and you were doing 33 they may just not bother
i think its because there is a slight margin of error on the cameras and so they want to be sure they dont waste money on a conviction that could be thrown out because of an inacurrate reading |

Fines for speeding are consistent across the board. It depends what your state has built into law with regards to probationary license periods and if you state uses the 'demerit point system.'
Here in Wisconsin we have a probationary license period that lasts until the age of 18 (for those under 18) and for 6 months if you're older that 18. What happens is, after the first traffic offense, points will double for any offense occurring after that date.
Your fine won't be affected- but your points may be. I'd check with your state's DMV. |
