+Im a freshman in high school && I want to be an animal officer like on animal planet ya know? I'm crazy about animals, what kind of degrees and skills do I need to fufill in order to become this?!

Sounds like you are referring to an Animal Control Officer or an Animal Cruelty Investigator.
This is an interesting field to get into because there is the enforcement aspect of it, as well as the animal aspect of it.
To get into this probably the best thing to do is get some education in criminal justice or a law-based program, and get some practical experience working with animals at an animal shelter or veterinary office.
After you think you have enough experience for the job, the application process will depend on the area you live in. Check it out online. |

I am in college working to obtain my Criminal Justice Degree..... I have talked to my professor about MWD's (Military Working Dogs) in The Air Force. I want to work with MWD's and Later work with the K9 Unit....
My professor told me most of these positions are offered to insiders..... Police Officers who have been in the system who are excelling in their jobs.....
They are offered the training first. You will not be given a position on the K9 Unit as a Newbie.....
I really think you should talk to the Air Force about working with MWD's.

You have to go to animal college, and then you will most likely, depending on the jurisdiction, go through animal cop certification to get a license to be an animal cop.
If that doesn't work, you can drop out of high school next year and chase animals around your backyard til you have enough experience. |
