If the blood test shows over the limit you will appear in court and end up with a minimum of 12 month ban.
So I would advise you go down the jobcenter on Monday.
Also you will probably never get a driving job again.
GOOD
KEEP DRUNKS OFF THE ROAD. |

You should have thought of that before you started drinking and driving!!
My dad lost his job, not once, but twice, for drinking and driving and the subsequent driving bans. That in turn messed up the whole rest of his life by default.
If driving is your livelihood, then perhaps you ought to consider NO drinking and driving. IN fact, consider it anyway - drink driving is a selfish and dangerous act. |

We can't do anything. It's better you get ban than someone innocent get killed. |

I have no sympathy for you, if you want to drink then drink and if you want to drive, drive but don't drink and drive because when you kill someone because of your selfish attitude, their death will haunt you forever. If you lose your job then blame yourself and I would ban all drink drivers from driving for life! |

Help a drunk driver? you deserve all you get as people like you do not deserve a licence to drive.A drunk driver killed my brother and a good friend so i know what it is like when someone has to deal with a loss because of a pisshead driving.Go walk wherever you need to go and stop others from suffering because of what drink drivers cause to families . |

I have absolutely no sympathy for you, but they have probably did you a favour because when you drink and drive and get away with it, it only encourages you to do it again, and next time it might be a bit more, and then a bit more than that, until you inevitably have that accident that cripples or kills, hopefully yourself, rather than some innocent child. If that sounds a bit harsh, I don't apologise. There is no need, ever, to drink if you are driving. No one will look down on you and given the publicity, you really have to be some kind of egotist if you think that these laws don't apply to you, in my opinion you deserve all you get, and no one can help you. |

your lucky you didn't hit someone you ******* idiot. you might not lose your license because you need it because it's your livelihood. but it would be no more than you deserve. |

First of all the limit for blood is 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, and not 85 as you state.
If your reading is below 80 you will be released from bail without charge. If it is 80 or above you will be charged with driving over the prescribed limit when you answer bail (you would have been given around 6 weeks bail pending the reults of the blood test). If you are over expect a minimum 12 month ban. |

GOOD!!! They should ban you and ALL your type for ten years, confiscate your vehicle and give you a huge fine.
NO sympathy here!!!! |

Fine will be the penalty and if you cannot pay, you will be imprisoned. |

Didn't they tell you straightaway what the result was?? Never happened to me (coz I don't drink / drive) but would presume the police would want the result before they let you leave the police station.
If you are over the limit, you would go to court, and risk losing your licence. You may or may not get off if you say you need to drive for work, but would have to tell your bosses about any points on your licence. You would be driving without legal insurance if you had an accident and the insurance company didn't know about your conviction so its not worth hiding it.
Presume they breathalysed you and found that you were over the limit anyway? |

of cos you will lose your job....goes without saying,
although no-one can condone drink driving, i find the hatred of others towards the person asking the question a bit harsh considering speed kills as well.
maybe some of you should look at your own bad habits. Most people seem to think speeding is ok for some reason....ha-ha, speeding kills lots of people. Maybe all these boy racers should be made to drive cars that are limited to 30mph max.
i got no time for anyone who gets caught for whatever offence it is...
if you break the law, no matter what, you should accept the consequences. |

sorry but you shouldn't have been drink driving. How would you feel if you killed another person cause you wanted a drink. I don't know about how much alcohol you can have in your system . I know some one that has lost their driving licence twice now and they still drink drive. It will only be a matter of time before you lose your licence and job as your a driver. DON'T DRINK DRIVE not worth it . |

Correct me if I'm wrong but when I left the UK 7 years ago the limit was 52mg and the authority's were lowering the level allowed. Your up sh*t creak, start looking for another job. |

Can't see you getting much comfort on here.
Guessing that you were borderline and the needed the blood test to confirm it for the courts. When the reaults come back I would guess that they will come and arrest you or summon you to the police station.
The penalty - well sadly for you the new anti drink drive ad says it all.
I did know someone who lost their license / went to prison for a month for DD - LUCKILY they were able to cut a deal with their employer. They took holiday & unpaid leave and returned to their job. Not sure if your employer will relocate you to admin / sorting parcels.
Why on earth did you allow yourself to get in this situation ????
See what the police say (give them a call) and also contact your boss and HOPE. |

don't drink and drive as simple as commite the crime pay the time you put life's at risk when you drink and drive you deserve to be punished if you don't want to lose your licence then leave booze alone |

If you are over the presumption, you will be charged with drunk driving. If you are at or under, they will probably charge you with a "wet reckless," which means you were drinking but not legally drunk. Either way, you can kiss your driving gig goodbye. |

To all you who may be ignorant. If a person gets done for drink driving and they work in a factory, they get a lift off a workmate then a driving ban means nothing to them .Now a person who is say a taxi driver gets a ban then the whole family suffers ,when they have done nothing wrong. In my case a nutter with a carving knife made me get in my car drunk, to get away from the nut ,and its a good job i did. People make mistakes and pay for it . I had a clean licence for 10 years before that happend to me .cars were my life, and i lost everything through one night and one nutter ,So for the ones who carry on the discrace of the few, may one day it happen to YOU. |
