I go to Southeast Missouri State University. I'm currently majoring in Criminal Justice Law Enforcement but there is also a Corrections option. It's a Bachelors Degree and it takes four years to obtain. You don't have to be a police officer first. Here is the link to the classes we have to take to give you an idea.

You don't have to be a Police Officer to become a Probation Officer, but you will need to take certain classes, Here in my county you have to have graduated from an accredited 4 year college or university with a degree preferably in the behavioral sciences, and/or supplemented by comprehensive knowledge of the criminal justice system.
you can usually go onto your county website and find out the all job requirement along with what classes and degrees you may have to have. |
