I was wondering whether or not, if a police car with yellow siren lights would be able to pull you over?

I presume you're in the UK, yes if it was a police car it can pull you over, and it doesn't need lights at all, let alone blue ones.

The car that you saw was probably one based at an Airport or similar establishment. All vehicles that go airside must have a yellow beacon, including police vehicles.

The only police vehicle that probably wouldn't pull you over would be a British Transport Police car, (railway police) as they have limited jurisdiction away from railway property.

If it said 'Police'on the side then it's not Highway Maintenance and yes, they would have powers to pull you over if necessary.

As "isitme" says, the amber light is a fitment required to operate airside at most airports. It may be additional to the normal blue lights used for the usual police purposes, if that vehicle has to operate airside.

As an example, the crash tenders at our field have to use an amber light whenever they're manoeuvring on the airfield, and turn on the blues instead if they're in action, so to speak.

the elephant answer above me is silly. He says he wouldnt stop for a car that says: POLICE on it. you pull over for any offical car as they could be warning you of something or your safety, not just arresting you.

this car sounds to me like a airport police car.

stay safe, if you are stopped by something OFFICAL or LOOKS OFFICAL stop but lock your doors and just open your window enough and ask for I.D. if you feel not genuine then ring 999 straight away and ifyou can take a picture.

I always have a camera in my car just incase of a crash or something odd, so you should.

State laws generally require blue, red or blue/red - yellow lights are used to indicate some type of hazard, like road maintenance. In California, any police/law enforcement vehicle has to have at least one forward-facing steady red light to comply with the vehicle code. Most police vehicles also have blue, with yellow being used (again) as directional/hazard lighting.

As an example, one of our local departments has a number of police cars with the yellow overhead light bar (and the car says "POLICE" on the side) - but those are NOT peace officers, and they have no police officer powers, and therefore cannot pull people over.

You should check your state's vehicle code for the right answer. I believe the requirement for red and/or blue (not yellow) is also the case internationally.

This vehicle was a Police Support Vehicle, effectively PCSO's of the motorway, there are fitted with Amber warning lights in order to protect them and or you at any scene or incident.

They do not have powers to stop motorists ie as a Police officer could, but the can stop vehicle if a police officer requires them to do so, I also believe that that would only be the case if using Section 43 or 44 of the Terrorism Act, I wouldn't stop for them

I would pull over just in case ...but ask to see there ID Bagde/ Warrant card etc...But be on your guard

The police have a blue light and siren. Yellow is for the services eg maintainace vehicles, breakdown trucks.

I don't or wouldn't pull over for yellow lights since you don't have too. Anyone can buy flashing yellow lights.

OK, there are many horrible answers on here. Each state is different so its hard to say. If it says POLICE anywhere on that car and they are behind you, you better get for pulling over. It makes no different the color of the warning light. I see this crap on here, of, it has to be blue, or red, or have a siren, BULL BUTTER!! It depends on the state and like I said if it says POLICE, well..... you see where im going. Great question!
