I would like to know if any of the things listed could be a criminal act for a Texas police officer?

My wife & Texas Police Officer are having an affair. I found some emails between them. He always talked about meeting her the usual way (traffic stop). He also, told her to lie when she called the PD so nobody would catch on they were having an affair. He also had her book hotel rooms using her ID because her Drivers License had her old address on it. He did this so they would not get a thank you card from the hotel in the mail. He also was instructing her on how to hide money. He opened a new account unknown to his wife, gave her an ATM card, and told her how to hide it by taping it to the bottom of furniture, in case she needed it for an emergency. He volunteered to keep her money that she was hiding in his locker at the PD. He also admitted that his job performance was suffering from their adultry and he had to go write more tickets and piss people off. He stated he could not wait to get to the PD everyday to read and send my wife emails on their secret email accounts.

Bare minimum he is misusing city property if he is emailing her using their computers. Ironically enough, the way those institutions prioritize offenses that might be the best way to get him canned. Make sure you get as much documentation as possible and try to be sneaky so they can't erase it. ****** both.

It doesn't sound illegal on the surface, but he would be in some serious grease administratively. Report the misconduct to his department, hire a good attorney, and file for divorce ASAP.

I don't think its illegal, immoral very likely. The best I would offer is copy all e-mails and send the copies to his wife. I think she would be interested in the 2nd bank account with another woman's name on it. Anything backing up what you brought here should work. You could also send copies of the e-mail to the police chief of that department. Would at least result in disturbance of work hours for them. Some places actually do suspensions for certain acts of breaking department policy.

Adultery is illegal and if you can prove that they are having an affair then i would bust both their asses. then i would tell my wife to take a ****** hike

It may be a Code of Conduct violation for the Police Officer to have an affair with a citizen that he stopped for a traffic violation, which could expose the officer to disciplinary action, possibly termination depending on that code of conduct.

None of this is a violation of law, unless Adultery itself is a criminal act in Texas.

print out the emails..... give them to his chief.... if he is married, yes .. could be in BIG BIG trouble... im not familiar with the laws of texas but dont like them get away with this!!!

False reports to the department might be the only criminal violation. However, proving will otherwise be difficult. Bottom line is this....if your spouse is really and truly cheating on you, what more could you want? Revenge? Divorce her and go fishing again. At least you found out! Good luck!

You need to report him. Where there is smoke there is fire, he could be involved in other criminal activity. So far it lies on job performance, abusing his position and using the PD resources illegally.

Depending on the state, Adultery is a crime. If he is using traffic stops to meet her, he is commiting a crime -- fraudulent use of police power; abuse of power under color of law; are just a few. By encouraging someone else to break a law (failure to register new address on driver's license) he is violating his oath to uphold the law and it could be considered conspiracy.

I'm not a lawyer. I just research answers to questions for my own purposes or to help others. Therefore, I'd suggest that you look up the adultery laws for your state. Also check the requirements for registering driver's license addresses with your Secretary of State.

Nothing criminal here at all. now...ethically...perhaps. Police Administrators frown upon personnel playing around with married woemn however will it cost him his job? No...it will not.

Do the smart thing. If you plan on a divorce collect up all these goodies and bring them to you attorney. He/She will handle the rest.

Sounds to me like you need to contact either a lawyer or the
internal affairs division of the Police force.
A good lawyer might be able to sue the officer, the police dept.
and the city / state..
You definitely have a good case and a bad officer and a bad wife.

I don't know if it is necessarily illegal but it is immoral and there are usually consequences for immoral conduct. You should show the emails to one of his supervisors and see if they can do anything about it. Here in MO an officer lost his job for that exact same thing.

texas ha they'll probably throw you in jail- they are definately a good-ol-boy group---i would not be surprised if he kills you and pins it on a minority
