Does anyone know if it's illegal in the UK for a traffic warden to give you a parking fine in the post, with no ticket left on the car at the time?

Sorry as stated it's legal, the law recently changed and they decriminalised the yellow lines etc. and gave the local authorities the onus of enforcing them. (Anyone and their mothers can now try for tender to enforce parking regulations on behalf of the councils) they only have to witness a violation, by CCTV or merely walking down the street.(the 10 minute discretion has gone as well)
But you still have the right to appeal if you think its wrong, if you do they cannot enforce the penalty until the outcome of the appeal.
horror stories are already appearing, such as a lady in london who pulled over and stopped on a yellow line to let a bus pass parked vehicles, and was seen by a CCTV operator then issued a fine!! |

they been catching people on camera .some people have fought the ticket and won . it doesnt give you the chance of putting in a defence if you dont know you done any thing wrong untill you recieve the penalty .
and if you own a blue badge you can park with in reason any where you want..in that case you not quilty of any thing.
but the question is have you parked where you should have not . |

fink they changed the law!!!! i really dont know was it a local council? if so contact them and appeal |

Sorry but the law was changed last April, it is perfectly legal. |

Yes it is legal to give you the fine this way, but like all fixed penalties etc it is unlawful at common law and violates the magna carta 1215 and the bill of rights 1689.
