After all, you people carry on like a broken record that guns are inanimate objects and don't hurt people, Well these are ALL inanimate objects!

I think the NRA is a terrorist organization and should be shut down. All of its assets should be distributed among the victims of gun crimes. Guns only have one purpose, to kill people. |

Firearms are inanimate objects that don't operate unless an outside force operates it (ie, a person pulls the trigger). Firearms are strictly a tool. They are no different than any other tool - a pencil will not write unless someone picks it up and moves it across paper; a hammer will not pound nails unless a person picks it up and operates it.
Your other five examples are strictly natural disasters - persons have no control over where/how tsunamis, earthquakes, fires, cyclones or lightning bolts strike. How does a person control how/where a tornado strikes???
Carrying on like a broken record is interesting - esp if you can't see the logic, but decide to base you arguments on the emotionalism of the issue....
1. Are you going to ban hurricanes? Go ahead - but do you think the hurricane is going to pay attention to that?
2. If you ban firearms, do you think the criminals are going to turn them in to obey the law? WRONG - that's why they're called criminals.
3. If you eliminate firearms 100%, what'll happen? Criminals will use other methods of force. They'll build guns from scratch, they'll use bigger rocks...
The bottom line is that an inanimate object cannot operate without an outside influence.
.... and speaking for probably most law enforcement officers, I think I'd rather see more legally-armed people out there than universal disarmament. Obviously, I'm pro-gun.
