kids are arrested all the time and you hardly see them in the newspaper unless it was something big.

No, not unless you murdered someone. Even then it's not always a possibility. But they cannot put the name of a minor in the paper. Not in my state they can't (NJ)

There is always a section in the local newspaper for arrests. No matter how minor and insignificant.

It all depends on the crime and the ethics of your local newspaper. Good luck and if it was a stupid kid mistake I would not worry about it.

i know for def that every friday in my local paper they list the names of everyone who has attended my local court but not anything about people who are arrested.

It is possible. Many minors when arrested appear not only in the newspaper but also on the news. It actually I believe depends on the alleged crime you have committed.
