Unless you are caught outside. Then it's loitering with outent

why would you do that? it is not your land so where
do you get off deciding it is a campground? yes, if
you camp on my land you will be arrested for trespass
at the very least; and charged for any damage you
have done even if you did not consider it all that important.
if you get shirty about it i will ask the officers (they know
the state and local ordinances better than i) to add on
any other charges that might be appropriate.

You could be prosecuted for trespass!

If someone camped in your garden/windowbox you'd be annoyed!

It costs nothing to ask and most farmers will let you camp overnight if you camp where they say after you ask.

It's free to camp in most farmer's fields - he gets the Bull to charge later!

Amber
yes you can. In the city I work you can be charged with sleeping outside which is a violation of a city ordinance, trespassing and loitering

milko
not if you sleep outside ,/////////////

voandginger
Or trespassing, burning (if camp fire involved), public intoxication (if alcohol involved)....and the charges could go on and on.

So knowing that, are you going?

State parks are always a good place to camp. You can find those that have privacy.

fr_chuck
The exact charge will be up to the state laws.

Here it would be criminal trespass

you can also be arrested for trespassing

startwinkle05
It would probably be more of a trespassing charge, but you could definitely be arrested!

I would imagine that you could be arrested for trespassing, especially if there are posted signs.

depending on how well you know this person he/she just might ask you to leave and not return.
the person just might also call the law and report you as a trespasser

it is always best to ask the landowner before any type of activity on their land.

there are some landowners that will shoot a gun into the air as a warning or fire a shot past you also...it all just depends on where you live and the person who owns the land.

if you ask the person about camping out on their land please be responsible and tell them that you will clean up ALL of what you take with you and stick to your word...not doing so can result in you not being able to camp out there again and it can also ruin it for other ppl.

i know of some lakes i am dying to fish at but because of irresponsible ppl who tore things up and did not clean up nobody is allowed to fish those lakes any more....

ONE PERSON CAN RUIN IT FOR EVERYONE...so be responsible and do the right thing..ask the landowner....let them know your intentions, how long you will be there, how many ppl if others will be with you and do your best before leaving to return the land to as close to original condition as possible...this will help insure that in the future if allowed to do so you will be able to camp there again without the landowner worrying about you destroying the property...remember all it takes is one person screwing up to ruin it for everyone else

You could be arrested, but the charge would depend upon exactly what you were doing and what you did when the police arrive.

yes! you are trespassing. and your arrest will not be a kidnap

Common Sense
I seriously doubt that they would arrest you..
They would certainly tell you to leave and not come back
without permission but they would not arrest you...
Maybe the second or third time you would get arrested..

Only if you get caught.
It'll be Trespassing though not loitering.
