because you see if the attacker provoced the bouncer or even hit the bouncer then its ok to hit back because of self defense but SURELY it is illegal to chance someone who hasnt hit you and beat them up because it isnt self defense is it!? and even if the person said something rude to the bouncer its a free world and we have a right to talk, no? i DONT UNDERSTAND are they above the law, do they have a license to kill?

I have charged many bouncers and door staff over the years with assault etc. many of them have also been the victims of assaults , stabbings and even shootings.
If they act against the law then you must file a complaint with the police. However if you are drinking and taunting them and you get thumped and there are no witnesses then it is your intoxicated word against his.
Do not tease torment or aggravate the door staff comply with their commands to quit their property promptly and quietly and you will be problem free. |

If a bouncer or anyone else chased after a non-threatening person and simply whooped on the person, that would probably be a crime in most places. However, if a bouncer or anyone else determines to detain a person for police, upon cause to believe that person has committed a crime, and the suspect resists that detention, the bouncer or anyone else can use force to effect that detention. So, you smarted off and got your butt whipped for it? Now you think that is someone else's fault. Grow up. |

I always had to play the scenario of what if i was this guy or that guy.
Always said; "Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you."
A bouncer usually will stay within their area inside the building, unless you are a problem in the parking lot. then it is managements call.(Usually police)
