If a Siamese twin commited a crime, would the other twin have to go to jail too?

Even if they were innocent?

Didn't they let that blond child molester avoid prison because she was "too pretty"? If you start letting people avoid jail for being "too pretty for prison" (only in Florida) you may as well let them avoid it for being "too deformed for prison".

**Melody L is right BTW. If this was an episode of CSI, I MIGHT actually watch it. Submit your idea!**

That is an excellent question. Hilarious.

But seriously, if they couldn't be separated by surgery, the judge would have to come up with something really creative. Fines are one thing. Jail time is unreasonable. The only thing I can think of is if the one did something worthy of the death penalty, they could hack the bad twin off.

This is amazing. You MUST submit it to CSI for a show idea.

I think the other would have to go to jail of helping, as there is no way he or she could not have known...

What if one twin assaults the other? Do you throw them BOTH in jail?

depend if the other twin was aware of what was going on

I guess it depends on the crime. I believe it is punishment enough to have a siamese twin.

volleyballchick
No. But the separation surgery would be done with a dull butter knife.

But I want to know what if the sentence would be death?

I believe he/she would have to go to jail. Oh wait...I see you say they are innocent? Both are? Or just one? Either way....someone is going to have to pay the price of the crime. So, I bet both would go, of course!

Local Celebrity
LOL, it would be interesting in court when one has to testify against the other.

Well. of Siamese twin committed a crime, then, technically the other ("innocent") twin was aiding and assisting a criminal at a time, therefore becoming a co-conspirator. Therefore, if one is committed, the other is likely to go to prison too on the basis of accomplice liability.

blu_drgn25
Wouldn't the other twin be an accessory to the crime? Maybe they could be seperated so only the one on a crime spree would have to go to jail.

sophist
He is not innocent. He is an accessory before and probably after the fact bc he didn't stop the crime or report it.
