someone told me that it is possible, the information is public but I don't believe it.

i'm not married! Its my brother who asked me.

No, who the convict is visiting and phoning is really none of the spouse's business. Convicts get lonely and there are lots and lots of women who enjoy visiting them in jail and writing them letters. Lots and lots of women. Women they don't even know but some are a hella prettier and YOUNGER than the convict's spouse. Women who don't care if the convict is married or not. Women who send naughty pictures for the convict. Women who whisper naughty things in the convict's ear, during a collect phone calls. Women who are the object of the convict's fantasy far more often than some spouse who's had a few kids for him to be responsible for.

If he's getting visits and calls and letters from some really good-looking women don't worry - you'll be the last to know.

I believe that the spouse would not be able to view that information as it would be in violation of the privacy of the inmate.

If it helps at all, we get this question very often at the prison where I work. Unfortunately, this is NOT considered public knowledge and that cannot be given out.
