No. Let him call the K 9 unit. He's gonna waste my time.........I'll waste a bit of his............ |

Scott C

Probably not..
Unless he can explain why he thinks he has reason to, he does not have that right.
Illegal Search and Seizure... It's a constitutional right, and without proper cause, he's violating it. |

No, legally, if there is proabable cause then the cop has no reason to search the car. If you say no, then a search warrant is required only if there is no illegal substance in sight. A search warrant is only issued if there is probable cause. |

yeah cause I don't do drugs so I have nothing to hide but I don't drive so it would be funny watching him search my bicycle. |

If you lock your doors when you get out of the car, they can't do anything to get in it. Simple as that. Unless they has warrant. |

Yes. I have done so in the past only to regret it later. |

It's an invasion of privacy but I probably would anyway, cause if you refuse it they think your hiding something anyway and might just be more of a problem. |

No, it's my right. |

Most of my dealings with the police have not been very positive. If I know I have nothing to hide I would probably let them search the car just because they know my wrap sheet and not doing it would just make me look bad. But if I needed to be somewhere or was in a hurry for some reason, I'm not letting him search my car without a warrent or probable cause. |

Without probably cause, no. |

Absolutely. If you are not doing anything wrong or have anything your not supposed to why would you worry about a cop searching your car? People act like they are somehow being victimized by this. Cops in general are trying to do a good job and why people feel the need to screw with them makes they job that much harder. So when I see people screwing with the cops I only laugh when it backfires on them. I once saw this dude on TV, who was speeding, he got pulled over and acted like he owned the world. He was dressed like a little yuppie wannabe, and he jumped out and asked what the problem was, cop said you were speeding, and he says no I wasn't . Can I see the radar, so cop takes him back to see the radar, then he says why you harrassing me, cop says Im not I am just enforcing the law. This yuppies starts shooting his mouth off talking about how this was bogus and this and that, and then tells the cop that he better plan on wasting a whole day at court cuz this guy was going to bring his lawyer and he wanted the cop to be there when they prove him wrong. (this was just about the time the cop was handing him the ticket) So the cop hears this threat and takes back the ticket, and writes on the ticket the guy now only had the option of going to court. He tells the guy he's called his bluff and looks forward to seeing him in court and they yuppie was like. "aw man, that's not needed" So the cop tells him to slow down and advised he makes double time when he has to go to court. Guy still mouths off, and starts to leave, reving his car up as he is going. So cop drive right back on him and tells him to pull over again, this time he tells the guy he will have not problem taking him to jail if he continues, guy continues mouthing off as if he owns the world and no way to prove anything the cop is saying, and cop kindly points to the cameraman in the passenger seat. Yuppie finally realized he just dug himself a huge hole. See you in court!! LOL |

No, as long as you are not acting intoxicated and/or under the influence of a drug, they have no authority to search your car. If you refuse, and they actually cross the line and make up reasons to search your car or search it anyway, you could press charges. You also have nothing to lose if you have not been drinking/drugging since they have no cause to search your car. |

Sure... afterall, I wouldn't be doing anything wrong or hiding anything illegal. |

No I would tell him I have a dead body in the trunk and when his supervisor shows up and they open the trunk and find no body, I would say "I bet he said I was speeding too" |

No way Jose. It's my right of privacy.....cops think each one of em is Captain America anyway. Bet he'd feel like a D-bag if he called for a warrant and found nothing, it would a good joke on him too.... |

No I wouldn't! I would exercise my rights to the fullest extent. I am a firm believer that if I am doing nothing wrong, and I know this for a fact, than why do they need to search me? They have a hunch, and a hunch is not proof that I am doing anything wrong. What if they searched my car and found something in it from one of my friends or the previous owner. I'm royally screwed now aren't I. Or if the guy is corrupt, he could lie or plant something in my car. LOLZ. that's why... |

Of corse my uncle is a x cop and he said that they can arrest you for something i zone in and out talking to him but yeah let him search if your not hiden any thing you got nothing to hide |

No. But I would make them waste a few hours of their time. |

nope, even if i was doing something wrong i.e. speeding or what ever there b.s. reason i was given that the cop pulled me over for me to let them invade my privacy whats in my car is my stuff not theres . the way i handle it is when i'm asked to let them search my car i ask them if i can search theres and if they say no and they always do i say no . i am not afraid of cops and dont mind calling my lawyer at all if they really wanna push the issue i tell them i want my lawyer present when they search this will 9 times out of 10 stop them from wanting to snoop and thats all it is is snooping just another way that they just take freedom away from the citizens of the us i under stand that there are many bad people out there but they should not punish every one for some people mistakes |

of course. if i haven't done anything wrong and if i'm not hiding anything then why wouldn't i let him in. |
|

ornery and mean

If they asked ... sure I'd let them search! Since they wouldn't find anything illegal (I know what is in my truck) it would be faster to let them search ... and come up empty, then it would be to wait for a k-9 unit so they could do a "sniff around".
I know my rights, and one of them is the right to not waste my time waiting for k-9 or supervisor units! |

Yes, living in California you almost don't have a choice, if you piss them off nothing good will come of it. |

Yes, if I am innocent and have nothing to hide, then i have nothing to worry about. I see a lot of people on here who try to be hardcore or difficult when dealing with the police. Things go a lot smoother if you cooperate with them. If you are hard headed and being a punk, they'll remember you and be on the look out for you. |

I probably would unless it was suspicious. I'd ask for id and proof that he/she was a cop first. |
