No, never. You never give consent. Especially if you've done nothing wrong, you've got to send the message to law enforcement that you know your rights and won't be bullied into anything you don't have to do. |

They can search my car anytime,I keep my stash in my bra. lol |

No, not unless they had a really good reason, otherwise no. I won't let them touch me or my car. Thanks for asking!!! |

depends what country you are in. unless you have something to hide why worry. let them waste their time. Most countries police have the right to detain you while they search if they even think you have illegal belongings. |
|

cant wait !!!!
|
i wouldn't let them. i never have anything illegal in my car so i know they wouldn't have a reason to. |

Nope.I have nothing to hide and have all the time needed to wait.In the end he will search.Rather the dog gives a false "hit" or what he'll search and find nothing and be even more pissed off. Also you can expect him to write ANY tickets he can and charge you for anything he can.Pot seeds, concealed weapons, front bumper to low to the ground if you have those laws.ANYTHING! |

It would depend on if I had to go somewhere. Normally, I would refuse. In refusing though they can keep you there for quite some time so if I had to be somewhere I would let them so I could get on my way faster. |

I would not consent. I have refused police entry to my home on several occasions, I have never been arrested, nor been a suspect in a crime. And I have nothing to hide. It's the principle, get a warrant, come on in. |

go ahead, I have nothing to hide, usually if they ask it is just to ensure their safety. For example if it is late at night and they pull you over for a traffic violation they don't want to have to worry about knives or guns etc. Go ahead give me the thumbs down, it's no big deal if you have nothing to hide. On the other hand if you are one of these gang-banging losers than I can see why you would say no. Doesn't matter, in the end if they want to search it they will. perhaps you were driving a little erratically and I think that you may have alcohol on your breath=probable cause= reason to search. Use your imagination, if they really want to search your car they will, if you refuse there is a possibility that your car could be impounded until a warrant is issued(see above), just save yourself the trouble, one quick sweep through and your on your way if there is nothing illegal. 30 minutes out of your life(tops) no big deal, get over it |

Certainly. I have nothing to hide. Unless you do, then why the attitude?
From your intro (ie. "donut brigade" "Tyranny") you seem to have a problem with the police.
OK...let the thumbs down and the hating on me begin. |

I would politely tell them that I don't have any donuts. |
|

TURANDOT

Not me. If he has an inquiry, he can show me a warrant. |

I would have to tell him NO, just on principles! |

It doesn't pay to be too smart alecky with a police officer. They can always find some thing to charge you with if you irritate them.. It may only be spitting on the sidewalk. |

Yes, because I don't have anything to hide. |

I would consent no problem. Asking someone a question is not tyranny. Tyranny would be telling them you are going to search their car and doing it regardless of their consent when you had no valid reason for the search. That would be tyranny.
Go visit some third world hole for a good example.
I have been searched before crossing the border and couldn't have cared less. |

Absolutely, I have nothing to hide. |

id hint at searching the glove box for a book on weight loss...
OR
a book in the boot for donut recipes |

Sure, I have no criminal record & nothing to hide. |

pyropossumkitty

yes, because by the time they pulled me over I would have hidden anything I'm not allowed to have where they wouldn't find it. |
|

Mild Irritant
 |
Sure I would. Why not?
Driving is a privilege - not a right.
"Asking you for permission" to search your car is just a courtesy. They legally don't need your consent. |

No way! |

Depends on the situation. If it seems logical- yes, if it feels like an odd request-no. |

Yes, I'd have no problem with them searching my car if they felt like they had to. |

if u say no hell figure ur hideing something ru???? ill say search away |

If you've got nothing to hide why not consent - this day and age they need to search everyone's car. |

Never been asked, before or after my career change. Depends on where I was going and how much tiem I had.
Typically if someone doesn't give me consent and I really want to search, I'll find a legal way whether its jailing you for the traffic charge (serach incident to arrest) or impounding your vehicle (inventory). |
