They are the one in trouble as far as your insurance it depends on your policy and if it is reported by law enforcement to insurance company. |

The person who is driving the car is responsible. If that person is unlicensed the driver can get a ticket for letting an unlicensed driver operate their vehicle. In New Jersey, if you let a drunk person drive your car and you are in the car and also drunk you can get charged with DWI. These are the only two exceptions I can think of. |

Most likely the points go against his/her driving record so it would NOT affect your insurance in the least. BUT if this person drives your car often it CAN affect your insurance rates. |

The law prohibits one from driving through a stop sign, not from loaning a car to one who drives through a stop sign. If the car is owned, borrowed, rented or stolen, the result is the same. |
