Do i have to disclose that i was fired from Metropolitan Police Department if i want to go to another police department? Can they find out that I was on another department if i was on there for less than a whole year? I was figuring that I would just leave it out since I never reached the status of police officer. I felt as though i was wrongly terminated but I figured just not mention it and i should be good.... any answers?

I have know people who have been fired and got jobs at other places. You have to discloe everything. Just have a good truthful reason. If you are not honest I guarentee it will be found out and that will be grounds for termination immediately. Also, if you are dishonest, you shouldn't even be in police work, you wont defeat the system. Is that what you got fired for? Anyway, Imagine getting hired and 5 years down the road you build a life, own a house, and have a family. You attend a training, or a partner/co-worker does and your name pops up. It happens in the Job. And then the topic somes up, yeah, that guy got fired from.......Then he goes back to your agency and mentions it, CAREER OVER! Life, house, nice cars GONE! Retirement GONE!

Hmm. Well it's possible that it works like other jobs. If you don't tell them they won't know. But if they have a way of checking you might be screwed. Worth a shot tho. I still hate you for wanting to be a cop. unless you dont give me any tickets. lol. jk. good luck |
